Nethybridge Hotel

I was a week over Silvester as part of a [Wander-]group here and had a wonderful stay at Nethybridge Hotel! The building is old, which gives the hotel a very ury touch and very moodfully fit to the landscape. The rooms are equipped with everything you need. I had a very comfortable double bed and was very in love with my small seat in the ark! I also liked the various light sources in the room very much, so it was also pleasant to read and stay in the room. Otherwise, as I said, everything you need: TV with British TV, oven, desk, closet, dark windows, shower and enough depot in the bathroom. Then there is the ”lounge” room for guests on the ground floor, with many couchs and comfortable earsets, a great cozy bar and always with an open fireplace - so great atmosphere! Then another beautiful restaurant with good breakfast buffet and a very fantastic dinner. A further mention is deserved by the very friendly and helpful staff of the hotel who have made the stay better again. A super experience around.
The Speyside Hotel and Restaurant

We stopped by for dinner, on the recommendation of our hosts at Mt Barker bed and breakfast, also excellent, and had a great visit and some good scotch at the bar with Mark, the owner. Dinner was very good and we enjoyed ourselves in their lovely setting. My husband had the tender lamb dish, and I had excellent mussels. The service was pleasant and efficient. We'd go back if we were in the area. The walk along the street back to our b and b was along a street of former larger homes, now mostly bed and breakfasts.
Craiglynne Hotel

To say I was disappointed in this hotel was an understatement. The bedroom was a disgrace with grubby walls, sockets, radiators and window sill. The shower could have been doing with a good scrub and grouting. The bed felt like you could roll into the middle. On my first night I felt like I was scratching all the time but that could have been down to my imagination. The walls are paper thin so much so I could hear the next room talking and what channel they were watching. Above me felt like the people were walking around with big boots on. It’s just so noisy. The reception wasn’t up to much but had a decent sized seating area if you wanted to just sit and watch tv or blether. The bar was pretty decent and well stocked. Might be an idea to make the bar area larger and take away some of the seating area at reception, just saying! The restaurant was pretty good and a fair size but the only complaint I have about that is the tea and food area could be doing with being bigger to cope when there are large parties staying. It was actually lovely to sit outside in the garden and enjoy the sun and a drink. Most of the staff were lovely. It feels like all I’ve done is complain but there is SO much potential for a good management team to make the hotel into something special. Starting with soundproofing and a deep clean.
