It felt like returning to my parents' home in a cozy atmosphere. The room and washroom were clean, and the room in particular was cute and nice. Although it's not very spacious, we had a comfortable and pleasant time. Dining was also nice. I only stayed for one night, so I wanted to stay longer.

Geraldine was amazing and managed to squeeze us in despite being 95% full that evening. We had a double room with a pop up bed due to it being so last minute however we found the room really comfortable and the showers are amazing, really powerful. Overall cleanliness is superb and the breakfast was fantastic, amazing value. Friendly people and a good nights sleep

Probably the best guest house my wife and I have stayed in. It is spotlessly clean, and for breakfast your given an excellent variety from cooked to continental breakfasts. Geraldine your host is is very helpful and always happy to accommodate your every need’s. Will definitely return one day.

Very nice, clean, friendly, welcoming B&B , accommodating dietary requirements, perfect place to stay just outside of the lake district if you don't want to spend the horrific Windermere prices but want to stay in a quality accommodation.

Lovely welcome by Geraldine room basic for two only one comfy ish chair short of towels and no shampoo just the basics list for breakfast options 1 to 3 ok got sorted with Geraldine must admit could have been hotter though was ok with me handy for a stop off stay did the job owners accomodation right under room 4

My mate & I loved the B&B here - friendly owner who’s an ex-cyclist herself and adept at looking after Bay Cycle Way customers, comfortable rooms and a particularly good range of breakfast options. And she gave us a comprehensive rundown on all the restaurant and pub options for an evening meal too. It’s easy to see why this is an enduring favourite. Look out for the extraordinarily colourful display in the front garden too. Highly recommended.

Somerset House really thinks about its guests. Small things in the facilities provided. Great attention to detail, and so clean. Comfortable rooms, very friendly smiling owners in Geraldine and geordie David - and a special hello and thanks to Gill and Geraldine for arranging great breakfasts and sharing so much stuff about the area. We had a great room, help where we needed it and a smashing stay! Thoroughly recommend the place, starting from the warm welcome and their prize winning front garden - a blaze of flowers and colour through the summer.

We stayed a couple of nights with our 2 children at the end of a fantastic week in the Lakes. Very good location near everything and a great base to explore. We loved nearby Cartmel. The family room was very comfortable for the 4 of us. Geraldine is the perfect host and very friendly. Also cooked us a lovely breakfast both mornings. I would recommend this B & B to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
