Ik vebleef enkele dagen in Granada en kwam terecht bij Casa Calala. Marlies en Carlos hebben hier een paar prachtige appartementen, vlakbij het centrum van de stad. Marlies spreekt vloeiend Nederlands, Engels en Spaans en weet je veel tips te geven over de omgeving en wat je kan bezoeken. Carlos komt uit Nicaragua en weet veel over de lokale geschiedenis, het eten en de mensen. Carlos spreekt naast Spaand vloeiend Engels. Casa Calala kan een perfecte basis zijn, om vandaar uitstapjes te maken naar Ometepe, Matagalpa, Leon en de vele vulkanen rond Granada. Tip! Vraag of Carlos je 's ochtendsvroeg meeneemt naar lokale markt. Hij laat je dan proeven van het beste eten wat ze te bieden hebben; gebakken bloedworst met groenten op zuur. Op het moment dat ik er was, waren Marlies en Carlos bezig met het opzetten van een foodcourt. Dit gaat echt een hippe plek worden,dus vraag ernaar.
