Rooms are nothing special. Sometimes I feel I could make a living out of consultancy on hotel bathroom designs: it’s so simple. Take a few showers. Grope for a towel. Can’t reach one? Point made. But the 3 Suns is no worse than most in this respect. But the food! We had the €68 menu. An immaculate double amuse bouche of a tiny chilled melon soup and a tender leek offering with underlying pate of maybe tuna, to start. Then white crab meat with pink grapefruit, lemon and cucumber, topped with a crab flavoured foam. Next came a piece of pollock poached in a light green curried sauce, and cooked to perfection. The plat was milk fed veal with thyme flavoured wild mushrooms. Carefully selected cheeses were served with walnut bread, and followed by two desserts: an apricot concoction, and a chocolate mousse, bath delightful. And so to bed. Back next year we hope.
