I thought I had posted this back in July! My kids (7&10) and I had the most incredible experience at French Leave. Keshan, Karrell, Kizzy and Wayland all took care of us! We had a two bedroom oceanfront villa that was gorgeous. The kids loved their meals as did I - the chef did an amazing job accommodating my shellfish allergy. We were there for 6 days and went to the beach every, single, day. So much fun and such an adventure with the golf carts. I disagree it’s not a good place for kids - it just depends on the age of the kids. I think for ages 6 and up it’s great. It would be tricky less than that - only one smallish pool and lots of hazards. Personally I’m not a fan of huge resorts - if you are - this is likely not the place for you. If you want endless jaw dropping beauty and to disconnect with your toes in the sand - it’s for you 💜 I agree the service in the restaurant was slow sometimes, but our room service was almost always within 30 mins and always delivered with a smile. I never waited more than 10 mins for our pool drinks or snacks. And honestly - you are not there to rush! We did an incredible private boat tour up at the north end of the island which was a fun adventure for the kids. Yes go get some supplies at the market - and keep your food in the fridge. Normal for a tropical climate - there are critters all around. I also packed some mac and cheese ;) Burrows was best in my view for the markets. The staff were all amazing! From the prep emails to dealing with issues for us onsite. I can’t say enough. We will be back for sure!!!!

My friend and I had such an incredible stay at this amazing resort. We were there to celebrate her birthday. The front desk team (Kerrell!!) went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and that we were cared for. They surpassed my expectations of the Bahamian reputation for being warm, welcoming and friendly. Our room was clean and beautiful with comfortable amenities including fluffy towels & robes, a comfy bed with the softest linens, and a golf cart! The balcony off our room was a great place to relax and watch the yellow butterflies float past us. The resort swimming pool was relaxing and clean with an unbelievable view of the bay. The pool staff was eager to help when we wanted to kayak in the bay or asked for a drink poolside. The restaurant team was kind and incredibly accommodating to our needs. AND---the resort's beach (a quick golf cart ride away) was INCREDIBLE!!!! We lounged under the resort-provided umbrellas and on the beach chairs between dips in the clear blue ocean. We were blown away by this resort!!! A beautiful spot on earth was made better by the kind, lovely, friendly people who cared for us. I highly recommend you visit and I can't wait to return.

This place is for you: *IF you can adjust your attitude * Island time rules * you like quiet, serene vibes *want to unwind and relax Lean into your island flow and this place will be peg for you. Use the bug spray provided with abandon! We loved our villa, spacious and clean. We loved our view. We loved the beach. As Marriott Titanium members we received “free” continental breakfast which we did each morning. This does not include gratuity (mandatory 18%) and tax. So we paid, 15$ or so dollars each morning for our “free” breakfast. Service is hit and miss and you will be quick to discover who’s who. Beautiful resort. We Will be back. Personally, our kids are grown now, but I wouldn’t bring small children- I have been around the world and definitely more suitable places for our small friends.

The French Leave is a beautiful resort. Our travel dates were Dec 3-7. We reserved a 1 bedroom ocean view villa. The staff was very friendly. The resort was quiet and not busy when we went. The beach is wonderful. Be careful driving the golf cart to the beach. Lots of pot holes! We did meet 3 other couples while staying. We walked to town 3 times during our stay. I do wish they had a sidewalk to the town. You do have to walk on the shoulder and on the road. It's about a 10 minute walk. We had coffee at the Perk, dinner at the Buccaneer and Tippy's. We also went to the fish fry on Friday. Highly recommend the fish fry. Lots of locals and tourist were there. The island is very casual and laid back. The people living on the island were so nice and helpful. Highly recommend the island and resort.

We stayed four nights as a couple in a private villa November 2024 before Thanksgiving. This is a wonderful boutique resort with very friendly staff, pool, well maintained grounds, and a beach. Each villa has its own golf cart to drive over to the French Leave beach near the abandoned Club Med, which includes a cooler that you can fill up with ice. We got to the beach early (a bumpy road to get there, but a fun experience). This is a place to get off the grid, although I was able to do a bit of work. They nailed many facets of creating a great experience! The villa is newer and beautifully decorated. Our villa was oceanfront and the sunsets were stunning. Water bottles were refreshed every day in the mini-bar. The airport is small and for a rental car you must deal with an individual or small company set up before arriving. Our person met us right at the airport (North Eleuthera, ELH) with an SUV as promised. There are potholes on the road, and we drove about an hour (stop at the Glass Window Bridge). If you are careful, avoiding potholes is not a major problem. We were glad for the rental car as we stopped for groceries and wine/beer. Burrows is right down the road from the resort, and one side is a local grocery store, the other half a liquor store. Both very friendly, and we got a free beer to try before we bought. The staff at the French Leave (Krissy greeted us) checked us in efficiently, took us to our villa, and came back with two rum punch drinks that started the vacation off right. We ate breakfast at the 1638 restaurant on site, which is a bit slow, but this is island time. We kayaked off the resort in the peaceful bay, which is beautiful and serene. We lounged in the pool, which has plenty of chairs and poolside service. There is live music on several nights in the restaurant, which has delicious food. Again, if you want to take your time, explore the island, have access to a beautiful pristine pink sand beach, this is the place to go. We visited the Leon Levy Preserve, which is not far away and highlights the natural biological life on the island. We drove over to Tippys for lunch, which has very fast service, great conch tacos, and a beachy atmosphere. We drove out to LaBougainvilla resort for dinner, which was just okay. May have been better during daylight hours. Not much else to do around the area except relax, kayak, snorkel (included equipment) and power down. Highly recommend this place and appreciate the wonderful, warm and welcoming staff! Especially Keio! Having traveled to many islands, this one is a true gem!

Visiting now, have two villas. Beautiful beach and very quiet and peaceful resort, that’s the upside. S……L……O……W…… service. That’s the downside. Yes the employees are each very kind and helpful but that doesn’t excuse the fact that every request takes an inordinate amount of time to be processed. Want to have a meal at 1648? Set aside 2.5 hours at least. Want to order a drink at the pool? Prepare to wait 30 minutes. Need something brought to your room? Go eat at 1648, then have a drink at the pool, then go to the beach for a few hours. Maybe whatever you requested will have been delivered in the 8 hours you were away. Internet wasn’t working the day we arrived, still waiting for someone to fix it. Bottom line, come here for the beach and don’t expect much more; certainly not enough to justify the cost to stay.

If you are looking for excellence,, pink sands and ultimate luxury getaway, look no further. Luxury resort without the hustle and bustle of Nassau. Truly delightful. The villas are well represented online_spacious and clean. The food on the property was so good other island visitors flock there, and the staff was the absolute best. As travelers of luxury resorts and hotels—-this place tops the staff of Four Seasons. They were very attentive, accommodating, professional and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. I would like to shout out to Nick who took care of us at the beach, Donovan, melissa and Keio. And the managers Karell Cephus and Wayland Adderly! The staff has sold us on booking another trip, the beach and the water simply sealed the deal! If you want a luxury experience where you can enjoy this beautiful island, I would highly recommend it.

I absolutely love this place. We had not been to Eleuthera before, and are so glad we chose to stay at the French Leave. Comfortable rooms, gorgeous pool and view, great restaurant on site, nice gym, terrific palapa by pool for shade. And the golf cart was perfect to zip over to the French Leave beach across the street, which was so breathtaking... pink sand, light blue water. Such a nice mix of pool and beach areas. Staff is so friendly, we all did a group hug when I left, as I was wanting to stay forever. I simply can't wait to go back.
