Bad, we arrived in 3, a couple and a friend, we had booked for two rooms separated by an arch in which in one there was a double bed and in the other a single bed, we arrived at the structure and they gave us a room with a double and single bed practically attached, and totally different from the photo, we went down and presented our problem, who worked on duty, very kind, offered us the money back the next morning, so we booked another hotel, in the while we were waiting for the taxi he also offered us another room for the other person and one for the two of us, which at this point was fine but we had already paid for another hotel, we thanked and explained that we made another reservation from another party, he asked us for bank details to send us the money and we left, today 2 days later I call the hotel to ask for money and they tell me that they don't give me anything that was written on the description as the room was and not to look at the photos

As usual I would say do your homework before booking anywhere and that this is our experience only. This is a very pleasant 2 star hotel and we had a very nice stay. The public areas are clean and walls are well painted, everything was in good order. The breakfast area was fine (you could take breakfast out into the covered bar area) and the choice for breakfast was certainly enough. Sliced bread, fresh bread for cutting, toasting machine, jams, etc. A few things in the hot tray always included boiled eggs and mini croissants, also other cold items; we generally found something to eat and had no complaints. The roofed bar/seating area at the front of the hotel was pleasant and the pool/lounge area at the back and side of the hotel was fine and clean. The pool bar was reasonably priced and the pool itself was squarish with a 2.5 metre deep end, not too cold once in for a bit. Our rooms were very pleasant, clean and spacious enough (see pics) with a nice balcony. The safe was too small for our iPads but enough for passports, wallets and the like. The fridge worked but opened out at the end of the bed and was awkward to use, we found full size water bottles too tall for the main body which did not have shelves. We had a problem with a toilet seat which cracked in use as not centred properly but we told them and it was promptly replaced by a brand new one in a short time, extra pillows provided also in short time; very happy with the response. We booked with TUI and so automatically had free air conditioning BUT I would double check re cost if you are booking via a different site. The staff were all very nice and friendly and we had no issues as they were not at all rude to us (young lad on reception was particularly smiling and helpful, a credit to the place). Saying hello with a smile and a bit of chat works wonders as usual, good morning to the cleaning ladies and to reception and to the lads on breakfast who always smiled and said good morning, etc. A stony-face or scowl seemed to be the setting for some guests but this is not us. All in all we had a very nice stay.

What an absolute wee gem of a place, where they honestly can't do enough for you. Friendly, welcoming place where they even had the patience to try and teach me Greek! Pool area is small but lovely. The rooms are basic but absolutely fine for the price. Breakfast is an interesting assortment of items, but I just went with the flow. It's in an excellent location for the bars, restaurants and beach. Don't come expecting a four star experience, what you will get is a spotless hotel and genuinely lovely people. I'd come back in a heartbeat.

This is a strange one to call. On the pro side, its in a great location, breakfast is repetitive but fine and plenty for all, room is kept very clean. On the cons side, it has a very unwelcoming feel. The woman on reception with long dark hair is the rudest person I have ever come across. She completely ignored us for 5 mins when checking in and just stands smoking when you enter the hotel without a glance. The lad however with a beard is a delight and very helpful. Apart from him nobody glances at you. The pool area is a strange set up too, tucked in a corner with beds one side. Our room 119 had a view of a patch of grass and a brick wall. Gouvia has plenty of restaurants mostly only open after 6pm but only 3 bars and 1 of them was hardly open so in the day it was a bit of a ghost town apart from the Tudor bar which has an expat feel but the barman that brings the drinks round is lovely and the drinks are very reasonable. There is a nice walk along the marina and back through a small village. The Thai/chinese opposite the hotel is lovely, its gets very busy. We had lovely meals in all of the restaurants that we ate in, Mythos, Vergina, Romeo, Moukas. We hired a car 55 euros for the day and went to Old Perithia it was very interesting. Took the bus to Corfu town from the stop to the left of the big green supermarket on the same side of the road. In conclusion I would say, if this is a cheap 1 week break and not your main holiday like us then its ok, if its your only holiday find somewhere more interesting.

Just returned from a 6 night stay at the popi star. The location of the hotel is ideal- everything is within walking distance. The hotel is in need of a good clean and a lick of paint but the room was comfortable- we were given a family room despite there only being 2 of us. There was lots of choice for breakfast- yoghurt, fruit, cereal, toast/ bread. We didn’t use the pool as we prefer the beach and on the days when the weather was bad we got the local bus
