Lovely room, stayed in Arran Suite which was massive with lounge area and sea view. Very friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. It's a beautiful building being lovingly restored.

Terrible customer service is the name of the game here Booked a wowcher dinner bed and breakfast deal but there was no restaurant. Fobbed off by alleged owner and dismissive front desk chap. Names withheld to save embarrassment. Both promised an email would be forthcoming for another stay as tried to blame wowcher for not paying them. Had numerous different excuses between them Had to go to dunoon for dinner due to lack of facilities. Not really interested in whose isn't paying who. Wouldn't stay again as shame as nice views and easy access from car ferry.

Fantastic service, met with a smile at the door by staff and at night a great atmosphere in the bar. The view was fantastic and great overview of the sea with the ferry going back and forth. Such a traditional style with an iconic look of a building, and immaculate.

Warm welcome, wonderful views from sea view room, very handy for ferry. Large sea view room and very large bathroom with separate shower. Some work had been done in both rooms but with poor quality finish, however work is still going on so perhaps finishing touches have still to be completed.

A lovely hotel right next to the Hunter’s Quay Western Ferries Port and within walking distance to Kirn and Dunoon! The room was big and comfy with a modern en suite. We were even lucky enough to have a view of the Firth. Staff were friendly and while the building needs some work done we could tell effort is being put in to renovate the hotel.

As a last minute booking for a very reasonable price, this hotel was ideal to break our journey back from the Hebrides, after being quoted a ludicrous £200 for a double room by Travelodge in Helensburgh. My partner was astounded as we pulled up to the building and she realised that this was where we were staying. It is full of character, and was obviously in its day a very grandiose building indeed, with stained glass, sweeping bannisters and all sorts of character. The room and beds etc were clean and huge ! The ceiling was high, the bathroom very large indeed and the bed was king size. OK the view was nothing special , but this was don't forget, a budget deal (£75). The owner was friendly, and explained that they were doing everything they could to restore this hotel to the best standards, the locals in the bar were friendly and in fact gave us quite a few useful tips about getting the best ferry prices for the next leg of our journey, what was where in town etc etc. Beware, it is quite a walk (albeit along a lovely promenade) to Dunoon town centre itself, so if you're after picking up some food or supplies it's best to take the car. Free parking is provided at the front of the hotel. As a family run business I'd be happy to give it my support again. better than a £200 Travelodge room in Helensburgh any day !

After leaving another hotel in the area witch I will not name the royal marine hotel is Great place to stay. Lovely old historic building with loads of character. Rooms a very clean and very Morden good value for money for what we paid. Sitting next to the fire in the bar with a few beers was lush. We have found our new place to go. Thanks very much guys

Reading some of the negative reviews from the late past I had hesitation of booking but I was not disappointed as the rooms were modern with tea and coffee facilities. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are clean to a high standard compared to the last hotel I booked in Dunoon. Food was good could do with a few more gluten free options but over all good quality. Only down fall with the hotel was there was no lift but the gentleman allocated us a room on the first floor and helped with our bags . The views are nothing short of spectacular.
