Very interesting archetecture, great view of Mt. Fuji and a good price were why we choose this hotel. We arrived around 6 PM and were told we couldn't use the restaurant because we didn't have a reservation. We had to drive back to interstate about 15 minutes to find something, there is nothing at all in the hotel vicinity or even a little snack shop on site! Buses very limited. The front of the hotel was nicely painted and landscaped, but the back with patio was pretty shabby. But it did have seating outside for great fresh air. Parking was free but coming back after dinner the covered parking was all full and we had to park lower level in the rain. The room had a strange layout, a 3-mat room for a passageway (luggage drop?) and a small bedroom that one person could get out of bed on one side, but the other person had to crawl over the middle of the bed in the night to get out. In the closet were 2 hard hats?? In case Fujisan starts spewing ash? I think maybe this room was the staff's emergency room when forced to stay. The public bath was disappointingly small, so got crowded quickly. And the view? Of course it rained so no view of Mt. Fuji at all. Not in the hotel's control, but left us disenchanted... 4-star hotel. I don't think so.

I think this hotel is a adult themed hotel , me and my friend did not realise this when we booked . But the hotel is big and beautiful, big rooms and big beds for a hotel in Japan. Friendly staff when they are there , the hotel always seems empty. It’s near peace park (about 5mins) very good views on a clear day to get some great pics of Mt Fuji not a lot to do around the hotel .

I accidentally lived in a double bed room, and it was a surprise surprise for Mount Fuji in the morning to open the curtains.

Beautiful house with beautiful views, good facilities and free parking! The first thing I saw when I got up was Mount Fuji! The only flaw is that the lights on the Christmas tree in the beautiful house are not working at all. I don’t know if it’s broken and there must be no power.

We used the Fuji Hakone pass and will have to stay one night in the Hakone area. We picked this hotel because it’s right next to the Gora station and later on we also found out that the bus stop to take the bus to Fuji area was just next to the hotel. They helped us to keep our luggage before we went further to Owakudani and Lake Ashi. Food is fantastic. We have dinner and breakfast at the common dining area. They didn’t offer free drinks like other onsen hotels might do. We stayed at the room with outdoor bath and found out later before the trip that the water is not real onsen water but regular water. However, with the location, this is unbeatable.

Although the style of the room is relatively simple, there is texture in the details. I am very grateful to the lady at the front desk when I checked in for being very patient in helping to check the itinerary. I had Japanese food on the second floor for dinner and it was OK. The breakfast was delicious.

I stayed at tiger no Yu for the first time. Despite Saturday nights, it was a reasonable price setting, so it was a high reputation, but I didn't expect much. We met 2 staff at restaurant there that were not cheerful and giving us a poker face! They even urge us to finish our breakfast when we just started for 15 mins, saying that just 15 more mins were allowed. The female staff standing at the front desk of restaurant looks like she was suffering and unhappy about her job, without any reasons, we have no clue why she acted that way. The food provided in both dinner and breakfast buffet are just so so and not much to choose from. The view from the room is excellent as the location itself is in front of the lake, the room is spacious and clean! However, with such service, I will not come back and not recommended to others, there are more options in Hakone in similar price.
