No idea how the food is. Visited Monday evening for birthday meal. Waited for an hour for meal to come and eventually had to cancel as my son began to feel unwell as we was so hungry. Despite it being quiet, when we asked all they could say was they were busy with deliveries and still had no idea when we would be served. They even suggested delivering to us. If they had advised it was a long wait at the outset we would have gone elsewhere. Received a refund but whole experience left a bad taste and would be reluctant to go back.

States there’s parking but it’s actually down the road. States there’s breakfast but it’s a voucher for budgens down the road. To be fair there is a cafe area but it was closed when we were there so got a bottle of water and fruit. Then had to go find breakfast. Also the walls were thin so heard everything including people getting up at 4am. Dogs were barking but guess you expect that with a dog friendly place. The bed was apparently a double but felt smaller.

Great friendly pub with good a**osphere. Can imagine it getting lively on a night. We just stayed for food, was lovely and the portion sizes were HUGE. Ended up taking some home in a box. Prices are extremely reasonable for the area. Friendly staff too. Forgot to take pics of the food because we were too hungry. Oh also the chips for the fish and chips were like proper chippy chips - yum.

I've stayed there many times and feel very welcomed every time. The staff are amazing and delightful. Food is good and they show sporting events. Rooms are clean and tidy

Visited this pub as we were staying nearby and saw that it had decent reviews. Lovely welcome on arrival, nice outdoor seating area out the back, however we chose to sit inside with air con as it was pretty hot! Food was tasty and very generous portion size. Staff were all very good/friendly and nice and accommodating for our dog, providing bowls for both his water & food :) Plenty of tv’s around too which was great for watching the champions league final.

Great hotel in lovely Gosforth. We extended our stay a night as it was so comfortable with a huge tv and tea/coffee facilities and hot showers.

Family friendly!? What an absolute joke! The language and behaviour (spitting, swearing) where kids were was disgusting...locals treat differently from drop ins was so clear to see. Lady behind the bar needs training on customer service. Food poor, will never revisit!

We chose to eat lunch here because the beer garden looked ideal for our reactive dog. The beer garden is a good size with lots of tables so the dogs (4 in total as we went with friends) soon went to sleep. Very friendly service and nice food. The 4 of us had the lasagne and burgers between. I would definitely recommend the burgers. For those without reactive dogs, dogs are also allowed inside which has a pool table and beer pumps on some tables. We have since been back for a couple of drinks and a takeaway. The kebabs certainly won’t disappoint.
