Good, clean rooms in a pleasant atmosphere. Well suited as a stopover on the journey to/from Poland. Beautifully renovated old town of Görlitz, restaurants and sights of the city within walking distance. The proximity to Dresden is also a plus.

Ein angenehmes Hotel in der Fußgängerzone von Görlitz. Es gibt einige wenige Parkplätze im Hof, die Zufahrt ist allerdings sehr schmal und die Platzverhältnisse beengt. Ich hatte ein Einzelzimmer, welches ausreichend Platz bot. Durch Doppelfenster war kein Lärm von außen zu hören. Gewünscht hätte ich mir eine Flasche Wasser, ein kleiner Kühlschrank ist vorhanden. Die Bäder sind recht modern ausgestattet. Das Frühstück ist für ein Haus dieser Kategorie sehr gut. Üppiges Angebot an Wurstaufschnitt, leider nur eine Sorte Käse aus der Tüte, hier kann man eventuell einen Ausgleich schaffen. Es gibt frisches Obst und Gemüse, Eier, Müsli…Der Saftautomat funktionierte leider nicht, was bedauerlich war. Insgesamt empfehlenswertes Haus, auch wenn ein Preis von knapp 90€ für eine Person nicht wenig ist. Der Parkplatz schlägt nochmal mit 8€ zu Buche. Gewünscht hätte ich mir mehr persönliche Hinwendung, damit kann ein kleines Hotel eigentlich immer punkten. Wir wurden nett empfangen, aber keine Nachfrage hinsichtlich unserer Pläne in Görlitz, vielleicht eine Empfehlung fürs Abendessen oder das Orgelkonzert am Sonntag.

Nach elf Jahren haben wir uns – ohne es vorab zu bemerken – erneut für das Hotel Europa entschieden, als wir jetzt in Görlitz übernachteten, und die Entscheidung auch kaum bereut. Die Lage ist gut: im alten Zentrum, weniger als zehn Gehminuten vom Bahnhof. Ein gekonnt renoviertes und modernisiertes historisches Gebäude. Saubere Zimmer, genügend groß und ansprechend ausgestattet – vor allem mit guten Betten. Das Personal ist freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Das Frühstück gut, aber nicht umwerfend: nur ein Brötchensortiment, keinerlei Brot. Käse und Aufschnitt sehr „überschaubar“ im Angebot. Unser Zimmer lag eigentlich ruhig, nicht zur Straße, sondern nach hinten. Doch direkt unterhalb unseres Zimmers (2.Etage) befindet sich eine Außenterrasse, auf der bis spät in die Nacht Gäste saßen und laut redeten und lachten, so dass wir nur schwer Ruhe fanden. Von daher: ein guter Gesamteindruck, aber mit kleinen Mängeln.
