The Ashdown Park is ideally located in Gorey. It’s a short walk into the main shopping street and cafes. A great base for visiting Wexford and South Wicklow. The staff are well trained and very friendly. The food is excellent. It’s ideal for a family break or a group of friends.

Attended a function in this hotel. Food was average but passable, however service was a disaster. Tables not checked by anyone, service staff or management. Ordered extra gravy with mains didn't get so beef was very dry. No dessert arrived at the table, then after asking two arrived then staff disappeared from room. Tea coffee never arrived, had to ask four different times, when I spoke to supervisor got nothing but attitude, same for the two service staff. Management need to train staff in customer service and need to check all tables received what they ordered. This should be standard and basic. Very poor would not recommend.

Stayed in the Ashdown for family wedding. A nice hotel, with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Rooms, food and facilities were good. Want to mention Anthony O'Brien specifically who was working for the wedding. Was very friendly, helpful and assistive.

We stay in Ashdown Park hotel all the time,we stayed for 2 nights in March booked in went to our room and noticed the heating was on, we tried to turn it off but to no avail. As this happened us in 2024 we went to reception and asked that it be fixed when we were gone to town, girl on reception smiled her patronizing smile and said No Problem, it will be fixed when you return later. We returned to a Shauna again heater not fixed so went to reception and asked for new room. What is the problem with the heating in Ashdown hotel do management think because we are older we need to be boiled alive in rooms. We in new room and next day staff in and out moving tables and chair ? Can this not be done when rooms are empty. Spa was lovely and relaxing which I needed just staying in hotel Tracey was very good at her job and very friendly. One staff member stood out it was Calem in the bar he could see we were upset while waiting for new room and he went to check out new room was ok this young lad is really tuned into customer care and is a great asset to the hotel's team. I hope the hotel appreciate him and his skills with customers,as we feel a lot of the staff could do with training in customer care. I did write to Paul Finnegan Hotel Manager but got no reply too busy with tables and chairs.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. I recently booked a B&B hotel accommodation and dinner package for a large family gathering for 42 people in the Ashdown Hotel, Gorey, Co. Wexford. This is a 4* hotel and I certainly can say without any reservation that I received a 5* service in every aspect of our stay. It was evident to the group how well trained your staff are and together with the natural Wexford charm, they gave such a well-run, consistent, professional service across every section in the hotel from arrival at reception to the Rowan restaurant and bars. There is a definite sense of calmness around the entire hotel and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Reservations: Maria de Andrade – Senior Reservations Agent was the lead person I dealt with in the reservations team who was so professional during the entire booking process, continuously communicating with me and responding promptly to any queries I had. Organising a large group of people is never easy but Maria made the entire process as streamlined, stress free and smooth as possible. In fact, I found the entire reservations team are so friendly and professional to deal with. Event Day: Reception: On the day of our event, I could not have been more pleased. The ladies on duty at reception when we arrived were so efficient and friendly and very obliging throughout our stay. Claire Dunne from Sales took the time to find and greet me, despite having a wedding also to look after on the same day, Also Sinead O’Sullivan, the Accommodation Manager seemed to be there at every turn, in general assisting and advising. Restaurant: The Rowan is beautifully decorated and perfect for large groups. Peter Montemayor the restaurant Manager was attentive on the night and responded quickly to any requests we had. The 3- course set menu was good value and the food was excellent. Bar: We booked the Coach Bar for drinks after dinner and this was such a perfect size room for our event, located on the ground floor it was private and cosy but not out of the way of the main lobby and close to the toilets. The two barmen who attended our group were both efficient and friendly. Accommodation: everyone in the group was delighted with the standard of the rooms allocated to them. I feel your hotel should be used as model for other 4* hotels in the country who could learn a great deal from you. Well Done!

Great hotel. Spacious lobby. Staff are helpful and friendly. All requests are dealt with promptly. Rooms are spacious and clean. We had a lovely meal in the bar and breakfast was delicious next morning. We have stayed many times and always found it to be a great destination.

Party of 10 siblings. We assumed restaurant would be open. It was not so only bar food available. Fish and chips cold. Panna cotta like a hard, frozen yogurt type thing. Used to have full service for breakfast now changed to a bad self service affair. Fried eggs so long under the heat that they were like hard boiled eggs. Bacon so long under the heat it was like eating leather. What used to be a really special hotel sadly absolutely nothing special or unique any more.

4 of us ate in the Rowan Restaurant at the weekend. There was a large group in the restaurant when we arrived. We waited a good while for someone to take our drinks and starter order. The starters took 45mins to arrive and they were tiny. When the main course arrived it was dried out from being left under the lights for to long. We also asked a young waiter for a jug of water for the table to be told "Can you order from someone else, I'm busy!!!" and he walked away. SERIOUSLY what a response. Didn't stay for dessert as it had all been such an awful experience. Don't take bookings if you can't look after all the tables properly. Would not recommend at all.
