Hotel les Bories & Spa
4.5/544 Reviews
Beautiful hotel with excellent caring and friendly staff. We stayed at this hotel for 8 days and it was one of the most relaxing and lovely experiences we have ever had. Dinner was outstanding--the service was kind, thoughtful, and professional, the food deliciously prepared and artfully presented, and the ambience--spotless and crisply starched white table cloths, lovely pink and white roses, lovely views of the distant mountains and green valley. Breakfast buffet optional outdoor seating- full breakfast of fresh baked bread, chocolate croissants, scrambled eggs, soft fresh cheeses, smoked salmon, fresh whole milk yogurt, fresh strawberries. Room was serenely quiet with views of the mountains and valley, all white marble bath facilities and towel heater (!), roomy storage space. On site Spa with convenient and always open daily availability. Indoor heated and outdoor pool (non-heated). Extensive onsite trails exploring all of the ”bories”. Location of this hotel was perfect for accessing Arles, Avignon, Cotes du Rhone, Aix en Provence, Luberon hill towns, Nimes/Roman Aqueduct, St. Remy. Daily teatime at 4 pm. We were sad to leave--hope to come back again!
Le Jas de Gordes
4.5/562 Reviews
Le Jas de Gordes is a beautiful property tucked in near Gordes. While we enjoyed our stay, it wasn't what we considered four star quality. The wifi did not work for two of our three nights. The T.V. did not work. The A.C. did not work. Some of the towels in our bathroom were damp upon arrival. Pool is beautiful, but smells like car exhaust from proximity to road. The property itself is quite beautiful, the rooms were underwhelming. If I were to donut again, I would book a room in Avignon and drive into Gordes for a day trip. For the price point we were underwhelmed and frustrated with the amenities that did not work during our stay.
Airelles Gordes, la Bastide
4.7/567 Reviews
The small but extremely fine luxury hotel chain Arielles runs one of the most beautiful hotels in the world, the Bastide de Gordes, in perhaps the most beautiful village in France, the famous Gordes. Of course, everything you get here has its price. This hotel and its restaurants are for people full of joie de vivre and enjoyment. But this group of people will be very, very happy here. The location is unique, the furnishings are enchanting, the staff are exceptionally polite, friendly and kind. Here the guest lacks for nothing, and anyone who knew the Oriental in Bangkok in the days of Kurt Wachtveitl or the Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg under Gert Prantner, for many years the best hotels in the world, can only come to the same conclusion: The Bastide de Gordes has nothing to hide behind these famous icons. We always enjoy the L'Orangerie restaurant in particular, whether for breakfast, lunch during the week or Sunday brunch deluxe. This hotel is our living room in Provence and we can only say that we are grateful and happy that the Bastide exists
Le Petit Palais d'Aglae
4.2/540 Reviews
The hotel is located in a stunning location just outside of Gordes and overall we had an great stay. The staff were friendly throughout and always available to answer questions. The room itself had a fantastic view and was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and there were a variety of things including pastries, hams, cheese, yoghurts, fruit salad and eggs. There were only a few downsides which did not detract too much. The wi-fi was poor in the room, frequently having no connection to the internet, so don't bother trying to stream any Netflix (there is a cinema room you can book and borrow DVDs from the reception). The spa is limited to a infra-red sauna and a jacuzzi, both were nice but it was confusing how the system worked as the person manning the spa did not speak any English. The restaurant in the hotel was also a tad disappointing, the presentation was excellent but the flavours were lacking, for €65 per person we should eaten in one of the many good restaurants in town. Gordes is beautiful so I would definitely return to the hotel, with the only difference that we would eat out in town.
