Wonderful experience. Rooms were very nice. We were given three rooms next to each other . Grounds are lovely and there was plenty for the kids to do. Even had a playroom which meant we could park the kids there and relax. (Only complaint was that the pool was a little cold). Food and service were very good had our own room to eat in and never felt bad about disturbing others. Breakfast was a dream! Great relaxing weekend

The hotel certainly has a lot of character: the whole a**osphere is historic, cosy etc. The gardens are amazing, as well as the surroundings of the hotel. The staff is helpful. I gave it 3 out of 5 as I think the price / quality is a bit skewed. For the price I would have expected bigger and more comfortable rooms and a hotel that is better maintained. Pros: - A**osphere is great - Helpful staff - Well kept gardens and nice surroundings - Included breakfast is good Cons: - Poor price / quality - Rooms are uncomfortably hot - Small rooms - Buildings are poorly maintained: both room as well as facilities look like it has seen better days - Bit scruffy smell in the rooms

This place is a gem. We came here for our 23rd wedding anniversary. We swam in the lake in the afternoon sun. Then had a lovely gourmet dinner with an exceptional wine package.
100% recommend this castle!
