Very disappointed I won't be returning, overpriced and my meal was terrible, I ordered a steak and can honestly say it's the worst steak I've ever had out, it was so salty I struggled to eat what I did I should have sent the whole thing back I didn't like the chips either. Steak was priced at £23 I complained to the waitress and she took £2 off my meal lol

Delightful bistro and coffee shop with outdoor seating. We visited for lunch after a walk. Although the restaurant is small we had a great table. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive. Our meals and drinks were all perfect and we left there very satisfied. We will definitely visit again soon

So very disappointed with this experience as we had wanted to visit for a while after seeing their instagram account. Table - as soon as we arrived we realised how small the restaurant actually is, it’s more of a cafe. We were seated in a lovely booth before being told we needed to move as they had a larger party to accommodate. We were very happy with the booth so were not pleased with being told to move. We were then moved to a tiny, sticky table with tin chairs right next to the bar where servers were trying to pass us and kept bumping into our table as there was no room to even breathe. Food - don’t expect to know what drinks they serve as there’s not a drinks menu which I thought was incredibly odd. We ordered an eggs Benedict and the smaller version of the full English but without two of the items and with an extra sausage. The sausages were tough, the beans were cold, the toast wasn’t toasted, the eggs were cold and contained what seemed to be a black hair or fur, the bacon was missing half the rasher. As for the eggs Benedict, the hollandaise was bland, the poached egg was overcooked and the toast again was just warm bread. The utensils they provided were dirty so we had to ask for new and we were not provided with napkins until we asked for new, clean utensils. Upon paying I noticed there was a charge for the extra sausage even though we removed two items from the full English - could the sausage not have just been included in the cost at that point? We were not asked if we enjoyed our food which we left much of due to finding the hair/fur and I didn’t want to bring it up without being asked. Upon leaving I messaged a friend who said she had visited a number of times before and enjoyed her experience to find out she returned a few days ago, was sat in the same horrible place we were and said the food had massively been affected due to a change of chef and that she wouldn’t be returning after seeing a number of people recently posting poor reviews. This was definitely not an experience worth £30, I’m not sure if it would’ve been worth half

Visited for Breakfast on Wednesday and loved it so went back on Thursday for ‘Steak Night’. Quality, service and value is amazing! Helped make our caravan trip to Wales extra special. Staff are lovely and our two labradors were welcome too. Will definitely visit again on our next trip.

In brief, the photographs bear no relationship to reality. Sticky tables, not properly cleaned, tiny portions of bland food. Mostly either tasteless or cremated. The service is awful and slow. Had to interrupt bar staff from their chats with friends to get the bill. £52 for a tiny, poorly cooked meal. Wetherspoons serves so much better food. Based on my experience, give this one a miss!

We love to walk the Pontneddfechan waterfalls and spotted the Sgwd Gwladys lodge just at the entrance to the waterfalls walk . A stunning place with amazing little rooms , loved the rusticness of the rooms , bar and restaurant area . The bed was amazing , slept well all night . Popped across the road to some lovely little pubs for a quiet pint in a stunning little pub then came back to the Sgwd Gwladys as we had booked a table for food . The food was out of this world , honestly the best I’ve had … had a venison burger, my girlfriend a beef burger which were cooked to perfection , cooked right through , no grease at all and super fresh ingredients, hard to write just how good the food was . Perfect place if you like lush rooms , lush food and beautiful walks on your doorstep , fantastic value for money … will definitely be returning 👌🏻

Myself and Mat arrived at probably one of the busiest times (about 5:30) and hadn’t booked a table. We had such a lovely warm welcome from a friendly ‘Louise’? The manager. She happily welcomed us regardless of the fact that they were fully booked and managed to find us a space for an hour and a half. She was so accommodating as well as all the other staff we encountered that night. After we had ordered food (which was absolutely beautiful) Louise then explained that the people due to be using the table we had arrived but invited us an alternative of sitting on a table at the bar. She made our evening so easy and we will 100% be returning. (It was also a first date, and she made what could have been a disaster - a great experience :)) Thanks so much!

Excellent food (loved the vegetarian poke bowl) and great service. Allows dogs. Near a lovely waterfall walk. Generally very nice. Enjoyed it. Pleasant enough. Good pit stop when walking in the countryside. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
