Country Woods Inn

The atmosphere was beautiful. Breakfast was more than expected and delicious. Animals everywhere. Horse and donkey joined us for breakfast-loved it. Never seen so much antiquity in one house. Everything posted on site is real. some of family want to return with in-laws for their family gathering.

We had a wonderful and unique stay at Country Woods Inn. We stayed in the adorably decorated Liberty Airstream trailer. The land is private and very serene. The location is perfect and just a short drive to Dinosaur Valley state park. There is a walking path along the river into town for dinner and shopping. We also walked to "Big Rocks" which is a must see. Communication with Wendy was excellent. She checked on us a few times to make sure we had everything we needed.

Know going in that the 'rooms' are rustic which adds to the charm but won't be your 'typical' 5star! Wendy is great, helpful, & accommodating "Johnny on the Spot" as the Host, and the location is perfect within walking distance of the river [with walking path], and eateries, but with so much to do/see ON the property there is no real need to venture out! went with grandkids who all loved it, especially getting up close and personal with all the farm animals[even better than Fossil Rim]; there were also many special touches (such as leaving books on the beds that were age appropriate for the kids!); we met several other guests on the property, all very friendly & many of whom were 'repeat' guests, which speaks volumes!

Had a great weekend at Country woods Inn. Stayed at one of the lovely airstreams in the woods , everything was perfect. Perfect place to relax and enjoy the rustic charm of the town. Can’t wait to plan my next trip.

We loved the place. Rustic, clean and comfortable with lots of atmosphere. We loved sitting on the porch in the morning, watched deer, horses, a donkey, rabbits. Beautiful view of sunrise. I explored the walk down the river in the other direction. A gaggle of geese came honking in and smooth landed on the Paluxy River. It was a wonderful site. We met the owner and she was very gracious and showed us the path to walk around the place, which we did. There are games for all ages, fire pits or you can rent an airstream or train car up in the woods. Small kitchen with all you need. Comfortable beds and linen. It was a really lovely evening and morning. Will definitely stay again. (The children next door to us were having a blast outside the next day:)

The Prairie House was a step back in time with some up-to-date amenities. 4 bedrooms to give everyone some space and a living area to spend time together. Two small kitchens and two bathrooms. You are able to relax and enjoy lots of animals on the property. Walking distance to the River Walk and The Rocks Park. Close to nearby shops and restaurants and Fossil Rim Wildlife Center and Dinosaur Park. A must stop is StoryBook Cafe, Mama Mia restaurant and Fossil Rim Safari ride. Kids loved feeding lettuce to the Giraffes. Hosts are awesome, responsive and accommodating.

Wendy was an excellent host! Great place for kids to play and see all the animals including deer in the field. Close to the river and to walk into town. We were there in December it’s all lit up night so pretty. We loved sitting by the fire pit at night.

A little slice of God's Heaven on earth!☺️ Wendy is very friendly and accommodating with the beautiful cabin we spent the weekend in! The adults, as well as the grans, loved the relaxed farm atmosphere...the little ones were freely able to roam the neighborhood, within shouting distance. We'll eagerly be back next year! (Our 6th year?) We thank the Lord for the privilege of enjoying a farm home away from home! It's an experience our grans and kids will never forget!

By far one of our favorite family vacations. Wendy was amazing, made breakfast for everyone and made it a point to make sure we had everything we needed. Anna and Lilly were by far my favorite. We recommend Country Woods Inn for a fun, relaxing, and animal loving time.
