You thought it was messy, no atmosphere, facilities or safety???? Are you freaking serious???
Hey big spender! You booked the cheapest bed in the city. What did you expect in a room with 14 beds?
No atmosphere? Why can?t you log off Facebook for 10 minutes and strike up a conversation in a room with 13 other people? I dont think you can blame us for that one mate...
Safety? Locks on every door, security cameras, 24 hour staff and a 50kg dog are not enough for you? Maybe we need to provide big fluffy security blankets?

If you are backpacker on a budget, this is a friendly and affordable hostel, in a quiet area, not far from the main centre of Glasgow. I stayed in a mixed dormitory during my visit. The bedding provided was very clean. There isn't a luggage storage facility (that I'm aware of) for suitcases. However, there are sizeable lockers in the rooms that will fit a backpack. If you plan on using them bring a large padlock, the small ones are not suitable for providing any security. Improvements: Establishing a female-only dormitory. Cleaner bathroom and shower facilities. It would be nice if there were some mirrors in the room. :-)

Do not book if you are a woman. As two young women we felt unsafe and uncomfortable. The entire place is really shabby and dirty. Nothing was explained at the beginning, someone just took our name and give us our keys (which open all the rooms and the doors of the hostel). There is only two dirty toilets for at least 40 people and we guess only one shower (but we did not find it). There is no kitchen at all. Not even a fridge, a boiler or a microwave. Nothing to cook. Only beers ? We guess the place is okay for a one night stay if you are a man and don’t mind but we wouldn’t recommend at all for women. PS: we left before spending the night and there is no refund

It was okay at best. I will say that the location is ideal. It’s a very close walk to get into the city. My friend and I stayed for 3 nights and booked a private room. When we arrived, the room had already been given to someone else and we had to wait for them to kick them out, “clean” the room, and replace the sheets. The private room was basic enough, which was fair. It was nice that it came with a sink. The beds were fine and the sheets were nice/clean, however the room had paper thin walls and were woken up by someone loudly blowing their nose next door. The bathroom was dirty and had blue roll, not toilet paper…. I think the place is fair enough given you get what you pay for, but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re just there to sleep.

Stayed for business reason so booked a private room which was decent. The staff were friendly and laid back. It is close to city centre and shops. The room was clean and shared bathroom and kitchen were also clean and tidy. There is place to charge and use electronic devices and has free WIFI for guests.

The bunk beds were DUCKTAPED together and the bedding stunk as if it had not been washed, luckily I had brought a sleeping bag. The shared toilets were disgusting and were clogged and stunk. Had to go to our friends hotel for toilet and shower as cleanliness did NOT exist there. On top of this the receptionist was VERY creepy. My friend and I (both females) slept together the first night as we didn’t feel very safe/comfortable and the next night the receptionist made it clear that he somehow found out we shared a bed that night. As two young girls we were very scared. would NOT recommend.

I have stayed in many budget hostels ( some better some worse ) but I never before felt like I couldn't stay the night. The linen clearly hadn't been washed (it had stains and hair all over ) there was dust all around the reception area and the floors were dirty. I usually don't see the point of bad reviews but in this case : DON'T BOOK THIS HOSTEL!

The only positive thing about this hostel is its location. First they state that the check in is at 13:00. There was nobody at the reception for 3/4 hours. I tried to phone them 3 times before someone picked up to finally check me in. The place is dirty and the bathroom aren’t separate men/women which allowed that creepy volunteer to wait for me in the bathroom wanting to take showers with me. It is unsafe, the guy kept grabbing my ass and wanting to kiss despite me clearly stating that I was not into it. Tried to get refund but the woman told me the policy is no refund for anybody and they do not do favours for anybody. Drunk people bang at dorm’s doors even after midnight. There’s no curfew!! Guitar at 5 am. There’s no fridge in the kitchen, and honestly, you don’t want to cook there. Beside the stovetop, all appliances aren’t working. It might be your jam, though, and the price is pretty cheap for the area, but as a solo woman travelling, I felt really unsafe and don’t want to go back.

I have no words to describe our stay. All I want to say is that we booked two nights, stayed 4 hours and left. The owner keeps backing up that our complaints are due to cleanliness or roommates when they are not. The worst thing is the treatment of the staff, I have some emails where he literally answered me things that I am not allowed to write in this review but you can see in the pictures. They also blames us for checking in late when their own website states that it is a 24 hour reception. Anyway one thing does not exclude the other, if there was no reception at that time they would not have opened for us. I recommend you to look for another accommodation.
