Very nice hotel, every member of staff that we met were fantastic, so friendly and helpful but I think the hotel is definitely short of staff. The rooms are lovely, spacious, clean and the beds are comfortable. No bath in the bathrooms but the toiletries and towels are beautiful. We had dinner and breakfast here and the food was delicious but the shortage of staff was very apparent. Would still return for another stay

From the moment we arrived in Glasgow the staff were extremely helpful and checked our bags early and helped us through the check in process so we would only need to provide a name when checking in at 3pm. Our room was ready on time and Caitlin at reception took our booking for breakfast and provided us with great information on different things we could do in Glasgow. We visited Pollochshaw Park and the Burrell collection o her recommendation and spent nearly 4 hours there petting the cows and walking around the fantastic woodlands. The breakfast was fantastic and the servers i the bar were friendly and professional. The room was clean and small touches such as air con in room on a hot week and the choice of firm or soft pillows really made our experience in Glasgow better than we ever imagined it could be.

Going to the Royal Concert Hall so booked this hotel, from the outside lt looks pretty grotty, rubbish at entrance, a bit concerned. But on entry found the staff especially Antonia very helpful The room was basic but adequate with a view of the back lane, plenty of hot water and quiet. The breakie included in price was good, obviously not the Kimpton but you get what you pay for. As we had. Travelled by bus it was minutes. From the station, also minutes from the Concert Hall Next time we have a concert there we'll choose this HIE

Having stayed here a few times before due to its location and reasonable price, I was left disappointed this time. I had booked this hotel because for some reason every hotel in Glasgow that weekend was unusually expensive. Hotels I would have expected to pay >£100 were £150/180. The jury’s was £111. A warm welcome from reception staff and the main lobby is modern and clean. The room we were allocated (618) was a bit dated. It was spacious because it was an accessible room, not at our request so maybe why it was cheaper than others. The above two points didn’t really bother us because it was just somewhere to sleep as we were attending a gig. Unfortunately we did not sleep very well. The windows didn’t do enough to soundproof the outside street noise, the walls were paper thin and you could hear the neighbours talking, plugging and unplugging electrical items- all minor quiet stuff which you shouldn’t really be able to here. Our room had a buzzing noise coming from the vent in the room which kept us awake til 7.30am… and then the neighbours started getting ready to check out. We never complained during the night because we were so tired after being out all night and the noise was intermittent so just when you thought you were back to sleep, it started again. The room was clean but as I said dated, and for this reason I don’t think I’d chose to stay here again.

Thank you to the staff, as a solo traveller I was quite nervous but I felt so safe. Check in was smooth and friendly. The hotel is clean, stylish and smart. You need your room key to use the lifts so I felt so safe going to my room. I stayed in a double room and it was so spacious! Everything was tidy and well placed. Even though there was a fun fair on the next street it didn’t really bother me when I shut the window. It was my first time staying in an apart-hotel and I would definitely recommend! I didn’t know that having ice in the freezer and cutlery would make me so happy haha. I could chill my water and have a lovely meal in my room without having to fork out for a more expensive takeaway. I used the Tesco express down the street to get myself fresh food. The bathroom had a lovely heated towel Rail too so I had the warmest, fluffiest towel! Down in the lobby they have a Brita water filter, board games, extra kitchen equipment and food and drink. Will certainly return if I ever visit Glasgow again!

Our recent stay at Moxy Glasgow SEC was comfortable, quiet and enjoyable. The availability of heavily subsidised parking next to the hotel (which must be validated by asking at reception) was an added bonus - only £8/day! The check-in and check-out processes were straightforward, with friendly staff at reception. Accessed with a key-card, our room, although compact and overlooking the aforementioned car park, was modern, clean and provided good amenities. The view from the room didn't detract from our stay, as with the curtains drawn and window closed, any car park light/noise could be avoided - this was necessary the nights events were on at the SEC. Our room was a 'moxy twin sleeper' (two single beds) - though the beds were really close together. Additionally, there wasn't really any storage space, and the use of paper cups instead of the use of mugs could have elevated the room. Despite this, the room was well-decorated and met our needs during a four-night stay. Overall, the Moxy Glasgow SEC was well-priced, and the modern, clean rooms helped us to have a pleasant and comfortable stay!

Due to a flight diversion, I unexpectedly arrived in Glasgow at 1am. Quickly, it became clear that the large convention in the city meant that hotel availability was going to be a real problem. After several failed attempts to find a room, I arrived at the Courtyard and Javier from the from the front desk kindly let me in (door was shut as it was 2am by now) and found me a very comfortable room. He was very understanding of the travel challenges I was experiencing and checked me in quickly and efficiently and gave me a complimentary bottle of water. The room was modern and bed extremely comfortable. There were a lot of well positioned plug and USB sockets. Great shower and amenities. This is a great hotel and Javier is a credit to the Marriott brand.

We were surprised to be given a free upgrade on arrival which was a great start to our holiday. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. Amazing water pressure in the shower - it felt like I was under a waterfall! :) We decided to have our dinner at the hotel which was lovely. Check-out the next morning was super quick and with just a short walk across the road to the airport you could not get a better location.

GGuest UserI've stayed here a couple of times. On the edge of Glasgow centre but an easy 10 minute walk. Really nice touches of design in the communal areas and in the bedrooms. I got upgraded to a suite which was very nice. Breakfast was excellent as was dinner in the same restaurant. Only negative was that the dinner service was sometimes a little slow.

EEscape46423629524First impression was poor - the entrance was uninviting and shabby, staff on duty very pleasant and helpful, we were able to leave our luggage in the store room until we could check in. There were towels just left on the floor outside the apartment next door, not a good impression and thye were there all weekend. The 2 bed apartment was a good size but in need of lots of TLC. rather dismal decor - lounge/kitchen area - clean but shabby - settees very very uncomfortable and much too low down. Kitchen - unit doors scratched and marked, fridge was clean, plenty of cutlery, glasses etc but wouldn't have wanted to use the pans, in need of replacement. Main bathroom rather smelly of urine but otherwise clean, bath sealant in need of replacement, only one toilet roll. Towels clean. En suite bedroom - good size and clean - but again only one toilet roll, Beds clean and comfy. Hair dryer provided but no mirror in en suite bedroom which is strange as you need a mirror to do your hair. Bit noisy at night at front of apartment but bedrooms in the back were pretty quiet. Heating would not turn up on the thermostat so it was a bit cold. Apartment situation was good, not far from Central station and George Square and near to plenty of restaurants and shops. All in all a bit disappointing as it was a special birthday weekend away for both myself and my sister and it wasn't as good as it should have been for the price we paid. Not recommended.

GGuest UserOur trip to Glasgow was only to attend a concert at the SSE Hydro arena, so we booked our stay based upon that event. I found the Campanile Hotel online as one of the closest hotels surrounding the arena and the price was good compared to the other hotels, which was the main selling point. I read reviews that it was a ‘no frills’ hotel which was fine by me as we didn’t plan to be in the hotel other than to sleep and for breakfast. On arriving I knew we couldn’t check in until three but we arrived at one knowing there was a lounge area to hang out in until our room was ready. The bar didn’t open till half 2 which was slightly annoying and there wasn’t a great area for ‘lounging’ but fortunately we were informed by the person on the desk that a room may be available sooner if house keeping had finished, so we managed to get in to our room for half 1 which was good! I did unfortunately notice a group of girls trying to check in at half 1 after being told online they could pay for early check, only to find out on arrival that no such thing existed. Our room was basic but fine for what we needed the room for. Could have been cleaner but again, I didn’t expect much when I booked. The bed was comfy and the pillows were good. Considering we booked the hotel based on a concert it was a surprisingly quiet sleep once the event was over. We knew there could be a chance of other noisy guests but gone midnight the hotel quietened down and I had a good sleep. We were first down for breakfast at 7am. Breakfast was very basic, again, no frills but did the job with all the usual options of a hot breakfast buffet style and a few cereals/pastries. The hotel were happy to book us a taxi for our return to the airport which was useful. Going on my personal experience our trip to Glasgow and our stay at the Campanile was good, couldn’t have gone better BUT I was very aware of other visitors not having the same experience with a few visitors having issues checking in. The hotel couldn’t be better situated for events at the SSE so I would recommend based on location, but everything else I would mark as average at best.

I stayed in room 10 which is a single room for 4 nights. It is located at the back of the establishment by the kitchen and kitchen air vent. There was a continuous strong smell of cooking and stale cooking oil throughout the room and bathroom. You could also hear the noise of the industrial kitchen air vent throughout the day and into the evening, which was loud as by the window. No adequate ventilation in the main room or bathroom. Window in main room did not open. Bathroom window only opened if you put something to wedge it open. As the bathroom is directly at the back by the air vent opening the window meant letting in the cooking smells. The cooking smells stays in your clothing and hair, luggage. It was nauseating. Despite leaving the bathroom window open a few hours in the early morning, this did nothing to rid the room of the stale cooking odours. I complained and was offered a full refund of the cost of the room. Unfortunately I could not find anywhere else to stay. Agreed compensation was free breakfasts during duration of my stay. Seems like the done deal in this establishment. In the bathroom there was not a adequate blind at the window for privacy. This meant that the kitchen staff outback could easily see into the bathroom. I often heard them out back laughing and talking outside. There is no adequate lock on the bathroom window. It would be possible for someone to climb up the slope and into the room through the bathroom window. They played very loud music from the pub downstairs. Unfortunately room 10 is situated above this. It made it impossible to have a relaxing evening with this loud music going on into the evening. Housekeeping on the first day was not good. Only the wet towels were removed, new ones replaced. The full rubbish bin stayed unemptied in the room. The housekeeper even failed to remove an empty toilet roll. Housekeeping after that day was excellent and one could see the physical effects of the room having been cleaned. They have employed lots of younger staff. Who were mostly polite and friendly, a couple needed more training in customer service and communication. The food was tasty and well presented. Though as I could smell the rancid cooking oil smells in the room this put me off as to the actual cleanliness of the kitchen. The room/bathroom was newly renovated. The shower was excellent good water pressure and temperature. There was no adequate bins. Only a small bathroom bin in the main room. Nowhere to hang up your toiletries or to dry your towels in the bathroom. Unsure of the effect of one's health stayed in such an unventilated environment. Breathing in the stale kitchen smells. It was quite frankly nauseating. Perhaps health and safety should be informed about this and assess. I do not plan to stay here again and would not recommend booking a single room if you are a solo traveller. Overall I would not recommend this hotel.

The location of the hotel is a quiet area, not far from the city center, and it is convenient to go to the pedestrian street. The service staff is more enthusiastic, the breakfast is more abundant, and the variety is more complete. The bathroom sink hot and cold water faucet is separate and not very used. The overall experience is better.

GGuest UserI had booked the last available room here after buying Ed Sheeran tickets for myself and 7yo daughter. I was delighted at being able to secure accommodation such a short distance away - only a 10min walk! For my purpose the room was fine, although I did find the bed pretty hard but a mattress is like Marmite- some people will love it, others will hate it. I’ll admit, to my mind and based on my room alone (I can’t speak for other rooms) this wouldn’t be my choice for a long term stay but for an overnight visit it was fine. Dimitri on the front desk is worth a special mention as he is extremely welcoming, polite and cheery. I had been a bit of an eejit and hadn’t read all the booking instructions but Dimitri was very understanding, took pity on me and gave me a little leeway. So again, another big thank you to him.
