This holiday was truly rejuvenating. The rooms that welcomed dogs were remarkably spacious, and Clive and Rob proved to be exceptional hosts. The breakfast offered was outstanding, leaving us wishing we had dined there as well. The picturesque surroundings made us long for an extended stay. We will certainly return in the future!

Our second visit and a lovely stay yet again. Super rooms and huge and comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast and evening meal. Clive and Rob are the most wonderful hosts -recipe sharing is not a problem! Beautiful setting, ideal for venturing out for walks, bikes or heading out in the car.

We’ve stayed at the Royston on many occasions over the past few years and every visit has been as good as the last. From the super comfortable rooms to the delicious breakfasts and homemade suppers, it never fails to exceed expectations. It’s so nice to have somewhere to just kick back and relax, no TV is perfect as we can just sit and watch the world go by and Clive and Rob are the perfect hosts!

A beautiful house which has been restored and furnished with an exquisite eye for detail. Gorgeous touches everywhere both inside and out. We stayed in mid winter but still enjoyed produce from the garden with our delicious meals. Rob and Clive are perfect hosts. Welcoming and thoughtful with great suggestions of things to do locally. Our room was lovely with everything anyone could need, including of course those amazing views. What a place to sit and enjoy home baked cookies!

Loved this place. Laid back luxury in the middle of nature. We felt so looked after. Rob and Clive were the best hosts. Breakfast was delicious! We ate at the hotel for one evening, food was simple but beautifully prepared. We had a magical day climbing Cadir idris. Would love to go back.

The welcome, the rooms, the quality of simply everything, the care and attention to the details and of course Clive and Rob make a stay here perfect. This was our third visit and the best yet. We finally figured out that the less you do the more perfect the stay. We love sitting in the armchairs watching the world go by through the llarge bay windows is magical. It is such a great way to switch of from work and enjoy life to the full. Nothing is to much trouble and Clive and Rob make an already special stay even more special. Love the playlists Rob puts together. Find them on spotify.

This is a really great place. Everything about is just right. The charming house itself, the very nicely styled and very comfortable room ( with a huge and really good bed), the perfect view and the outstanding service provided by Bruce and Kelly. Wonderfull tasty vegetarian breakfasts en great tasting dinners prepared by Bruce. Totally relaxed vibe and a really beautiful area to do hikes or visit quaint little towns. But if you decide to just sit and relax and enjoy the serenity of the place and the magical views, as we did one afternoon, it's really good too. Especially when Bruce brought us a plate of snacks to enjoy with our drinks. That made the whole experience even more special.

Would give 6 stars if I could. So glad we found this hidden gem of a boutique hotel in Mid Wales. Bruce and Kelly were the loveliest hosts, together with their adorable dogs. Food was sublime - some of the best and freshest we’ve had in Wales so far. And the views from the property were spectacular. Spend a week here - explore the area and just disconnect from the daily grind - you’ll leave with your body and soul refreshed.

From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. The gentleman went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, polite, friendly, and incredibly helpful. He even arranged a local taxi for us with ease! The hotel is set in the most beautiful location, surrounded by breathtaking views of the Welsh hills. We stayed in a Superior Room, and I would highly recommend it to anyone booking, the views alone are worth it, but the room itself is stunning. The interior design is incredibly tasteful, from the thoughtful artwork to the elegant décor. Everything feels considered and luxurious without being overdone. At breakfast, we noticed a beautiful Fornasetti candle on display, an effortlessly chic touch and it perfectly reflected the thought and care that’s gone into curating every corner of this place. One of the loveliest touches was the homemade cookies waiting for us on arrival, without exaggeration, they were the best cookies we’ve ever had… and we’ve tried some of the most famous cookie spots in New York! Truly unforgettable. The bathroom was stocked with Meraki shower and hand products, which added a spa-like, calming feel to the experience. It’s those small luxuries that really set a place apart. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape to reconnect with nature, switch off, and slow down, this is the place to come. It would be the perfect retreat for a writer, artist, or anyone seeking inspiration and stillness, the kind of place where creativity naturally flows and time slows down. Mid-Wales is magical, and this hotel is a hidden gem that captures it perfectly.
