Amazing

The room is well-equipped and comfortable, clean and tidy, with a view outside the window. The front desk service attitude is very good, the parking space is a little tight, and it is a good choice for passing through. I feel that the blind box is opened well. Recommended. There is an entertainment city on the other side of the building where the hotel is located. The hotel locks the door at night, and it is safe to stay in the room.

Great spot for a break in our travels. The room was spacious and very clean with a very comfy. bed. Staff were all helpful and friendly and everything was at our fingertips so we didn’t need to go anywhere else. Our meals were delicious as well.

Location was handy for a 15 min walk across to the harbour for Heron Island trip. Disturbed sleep due to loud drunk people walking past from nearby club and then woken up at 3.30am from glass bottles being emptied into bins. We also had a problem with toilet cistern which wasn't fixed during our stay and bugs around the kettle area.

Well priced with comfortable room, only problem reception not opened until 2.00 for checkin but ok. Nice room with all needed, walk through connected to bars and Restaurant. Pleasant to see sign at Restaurant that they discounted seniors as well. Food ok pretty busy but ok.

View of the carpark no secure parking. The bed was a double very uncomfortable everything was a bit outdated even the pool area. $218 a night really do expect better for that price but it was just a budget pub room. I don’t think there is any value for money and wouldn’t stay again.

Rattling air con kept me awake but the harbour view room has a great vista hence the 3 stars. Pool is diabolical - zero stars for that. Only 1 lounger but no room for another one anyway. Pool itself is unattractive with no depth information. No towels. Slippery tiles when wet…probably best to avoid it.

A decent hotel in Gladstone, but gets the job done. It’s not exactly a special hotel, but Gladstone isn’t a tourist city. Gladstone is an industrial port town, and the most touristy thing people do there is stay in Gladstone as a layover before (or after) going to Heron Island, which is off the coast of Gladstone and can only be reached from Gladstone. The hotel has all the basics, and also has a small ****** on the ground floor. So don’t be surprised if instead of getting greeted by a doorman, you get greeted by a bouncer. However, the staff were friendly and made everything work for us. There also appears to be a drive-thru liquor store on the premises. If you’re going to Heron Island and staying here, this hotel is about a 15-minute walk from the ferry. (If you’re not up for a walk, you should consider booking a cab well in advance, like a day before, or maybe coordinate with the hotel staff on this, because there aren’t a ton of cabs in Gladstone – as a simple matter of supply and demand. The drive should be less than 5 minutes. Also, on cabs in Gladstone, taxis at the airport definitely know this hotel.)

Gladstone was an overnight stop on my road trip from Cairns to the Sunshine Coast & I stayed here at the Reef. It was a good choice as there is a full bistro restaurant attached to the hotel & I got myself a nice glass of red & vegetarian spaghetti & meatballs (not bad at all!). The hotel car park was chocka block but I found a free park in the street next door easily. The young lady on reception got me checked in fine but was a bit jaded and didn’t seem happy to be there - the type who is biding their time in a small town waiting for any chance to get out of Gladstone. The room was a good size & just right for an overnight stay. I got into town late, so got settled in the room, had dinner downstairs in the bistro & got an earlyish night before getting back on the road the next day. I did head down to East Shores waterfront park for a bit of site seeing the next morning & had coffee & pancakes at a nice little cafe called Familia. I’d recommend Reef for an overnight stay.

One of the worst places we have stayed in the 3 weeks we have been in Australia. Although the bed was comfortable and looked clean we woke up with itchy skin and bites on our bodies. Made for a very uncomfortable day. Would not recomend. Booking stated breakfast. Not available. Laundry was also out of order

We dropped into the hotel to have a quick dinner after a long day travelling. I don't think I've ever experienced such genuinely helpful and pleasant staff (anywhere). The food was amazing value for money. Servings were not small, and the produce was fresh. After spending the last few weeks thinking that service and caring no longer existed in the world, this was such a lovely surprise.

A quiet, well-located hotel which is convenience for Heron Island travellers. Our room has bonus harbour view and the in-room facilities are the same as other TA comments. We checked in after 10:00pm and they told us (over the phone) to go straight to the bar for check in and the staff were very nice and polite. Their bar opens till 1:30am so there is no problem for late arrival. I would recommend this hotel for people going to Heron Island.

Fairly basic hotel but well kept - clean and all you need in the way of extras for a couple of nights. Restaurant fairly typical of most Aussie hotels but good views. We actually ate at Auckland House down by water and that was fab!

We stayed here for a night after 2 nights on Heron Island. We weren't expecting anything after a beautiful tropical island stay, just a rest. But the customer service here far out done Heron Island! Maybe Heron Island should hire Gladstone Reef Hotel Staff! Well done, thank you for making us feel welcome.
