Our Guesthouse experience was not perfect, mainly because the shower drain was blocked which flooded the bathroom making the room unusable. They did swap rooms for us (to a less attractive room) but it was a hassle to move all things, and this was apparently a known problem. We were in the Annex. Its rooms are older and quite tired really need a refurb. Breakfast was modest but adequate. The evening meal in the restaurant was very expensive but the meals did not in our view justify the price. Although the guests were mainly couples, they had only one table for two by the window. We ordered a packed lunch, as most places in the vicinity did not have shops or cafes. We had expected this to cost about 95DKK (as in our Torshavn hotel) but it turned out to be 150 DKK each. The food was not at ball what we expected or wanted for a picnic lunch i.e. a filled roll, a piece of fruit but rather was cold crumbed fish, a pea mash and a potato salad. Perhaps some people would want this. Our fault for not inquiring about the details; we had relied on our experience with several prior picnic lunches from hotels. Gjogv is a special place and if you took a modern room, you might have a better experience than we did.

The hotel overlooks the entire Toles Harbour on the mountain. The sunrise and sunset are beautiful. The hotel room is relatively large. The disadvantage is that the kitchenette has no stove. There is a microwave oven to heat up. It can't cook. The breakfast is very rich, but I stayed for 4 days. The variety of breakfast every day has not changed at all. It is recommended to have changes.

Very comfortable hotel, whether it is the check-in process or the hotel decoration, it is very comfortable and very Nordic! The breakfast is also very rich, the kosher and lemon avocado are delicious, and there are salmon and ham to choose from. The hotel also has free laundry, although there is a washing machine and dryer, but not crowded at all. The refrigerator sticker sold at the front desk of the hotel is very nice, but it is 10 yuan more expensive than the airport, so you don't have to rush to place an order ～

____________________ LA SITUATION GÉOGRAPHIQUE ---------- Situation idéale et assez centrale pour vous permettre de visiter l'ile d'Esturoy (Funningur, Gjogv, Eidi...), de Bordoy (Klaksvik) ou encore de Kalsoy (Phare de Kallur, tombe de James Bond), tout est donc accessible en voiture depuis l'établissement. Dnas une zone résidentielle donc pas grand chose à proximité directe, il faut bouger en voiture pour aller trouver un restaurant ou supermarché par exemple. ____________________ L'HOTEL ET L'ACCUEIL ---------- VisitHOMES c'est un peu comme Gites de France, des séjours chez l'habitant type chambres d'hôtes. Très bon accueil de la propriétaire, chaleureux et de la simplicité. A noter qu'ils ont des chambres dans la maison même, et un gite dans une petite maison séparé, en fonction de la prestation souhaitée. Les propriétaires parlent anglais. En tout cas très belle maison typique des iles avec de belles pièces, poutre apparente, joliment décoré avec du nouveau et de l'ancien. ____________________ LA CHAMBRE ---------- Chambre au 1er étage de la maison, très propre ! Relativement petite mais suffisante, pas grand chose avec une penderie, un lit confortable et une table de nuit, lavabo en fonction de la chambre et c'est tout. Mais il y a un espace commun au 1er avec TV. La salle de bain est au rez-de-chaussée qui est celle partagée également avec les propriétaires. Grande salle de bain avec baignoire et douche. Si la chambre est nickel et hyper propre, la salle de bain est plus négligée avec un nettoyage peu fréquent, il y a donc de la poussière/saletés sur le meuble lavabo. Des lingettes sont à disposition néanmoins pour passer un coup sur le lavabo et/ou les WC. ____________________ LA RESTAURATION ---------- Un service de petit déjeuner est inclus, au top. Du sucré/salé préparé par votre hôte. Il y a toujours une base avec du pain, des tartinades, beurre maison, confiture maison. Puis une préparation maison changeant tous les jours et surtout des produits locaux comme de la pâte de poisson du village, bref quelques petites choses à découvrir chaque matin. Pas de table d'hôtes le soir. ____________________ RAPPORT QUALITE/PRIX ET LES SERVICES ---------- Avec une attention à porter sur la salle de bain cela est sans doute un très bon rapport qualité/prix. Le wifi fonctionne très bien. Côté parking c'est délicat. Il n'y a pas de parking privé, il faut se garer dans la rue gratuitement. Demandez clairement au propriétaire les emplacements autorisés car si dans l'absolu on peut se garer partout le long du trottoir (comme dans une rue publique), le voisinage n'aime pas les touristes et étant garé tout à fait correctement mais devant le mur d'une autre maison, les 2 voitures devant et derrière se sont collés à ma voiture avec quasi dégradation : 5 minutes pour manoeuvrer pour sortir... ____________________ EN RÉSUMÉ ---------- Très jolie maison pour dormir chez l'habitant dans une de leurs chambres ou si vous préférez, dans un gite séparé privatif. The room was clean, and the bathroom was a bit impractical because you had to squeeze around the toilet to get in, but it all worked well. The breakfast was not very nice. The little sausage was greasy, and the egg was snoty, and the salmon was impossible to bite into the yoghurt, and granola was nice with the fruit. I found the steps leading up to my room where very slippery in the rain. All in all, it's not a bad hotel. There are a lot more better ones for a little bit more money.
