Stirk House Hotel

Excellent wedding venue attended a family wedding there this weekend. Food was very good the staff were helpful and friendly. Room was lovely especially the sunrise through our window this morning. Special shout out to MC DAVE the receptionist and the breakfast staff this morning. Make sure you have breakfast when you stay as it’s the brilliant and the sausages are the star

We sadly only stayed one night, but we can’t speak highly enough of this lovely place. Firstly , the setting is lovely, the place seems spotless. However the icing on the cake is the lovely, engaging, professional staff. We met at least six staff members and each one was outstanding. We had evening meal and breakfast, both faultless. Please take these comments as observations and not as a damming criticism but we went for tea in the restaurant and would like to provide observations based on our experience. Not withstanding the fact that we were advised that there was a wedding party in on the day we booked and not with standing that we fully understand that weddings are a mainstay business for the hotel we found two or three things that somewhat spoilt our dining experience as follows: Firstly the in house music system was far to loud and the choice of music not conducive to relaxed eating in addition we found that the chairs are to low except for anyone six foot + in fact i would not say our chins were on the table but we found our selves almost face to face level with the plates of food. In addition the internal window next to where we were seated was quite dirty. Finally the staff were pleasant enough but may be because they were more preoccupied dealing with arriving members of the wedding party we felt that as far as service was concerned we were a bit of an after thought. Please accept the above observations in the spirit in which they are conveyed and hope that they may initiate some improvements so that we can return at some time in the future secure in the knowledge that we will get a nicer dining experience.

We stayed at Stirk House for two nights, firstly to attend a friend’s wedding and then to celebrate our own wedding anniversary. From start to finish, it was a wonderful experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, with every part of it so well maintained. Our room was lovely and the bed incredibly comfortable (we heard the same from others staying for the wedding too). What really stood out most though was the staff. Every single person we met was warm, friendly, and genuinely sincere - some of the best service we’ve ever experienced anywhere. It made our stay feel really special. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Stirk House to anyone, and we’re already looking forward to coming back ourselves.

It was my son and daughter in law's wedding, the staff at Stirk house were brilliant in every way possible, from entering to leaving nothing was to much trouble, the room in the lodge at the side of Stirk house was lovely and clean, and the food was exceptional, we loved every minute.
