We got a very friendly welcome and our room was large and airy with a fabulous bathroom. We were here for a wedding at the Gisburne Park so the location couldn't have been better. Beds very comfortable with lots of space and hangars for your clothes. The only criticism I would have is the traffic as it's on a main road. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at The White Bull while visiting a local restaurant. The service from Michelle was exemplary. The rooms were nice and large with plush decorations. We enjoyed our stay with some minor complications, which the great food and service made trivial. We will use the White Bull again for Bed and breakfast and probably will visit just for their food.

Stayed for a wedding, limited accommodation options in the area but well overpriced for poor accommodation! Very dated decor and facilities not worth the price. We stayed in the external rooms which were loud due to extraction fans and had poor blinds/curtains with a window that didn’t fully close, disappointing.

The hotel is recovering post-Covid and in the face of a shortage of key staff, but is managing to workaround. Food and beers excellent, and it is clearly the social centre of the village with the same people dropping in, out and socialising day after day. Bedrooms good, comfortable and well-serviced.

Our party of 4 arrived at 5pm for a quick fuel up before travelling to play a gig before the welcoming crowds of adoring fans in Threshfield. It didn't start well and the lead singer was considering doing a Kurt Cobain when they announced that there was no ale. A lager shandy simply doesn't cut it when you have to belt out Dakota and Born to be Wild. It didn't improve when the chef was clearly overwhelmed by our outrageously extravagant rock n roll order for two burgers, cottage pie and a scampi as it took the best part of two hours to arrive. The 'signature' burgers were akin to 45 records both in look and texture and were accompanied by a small ashtray sized plate of overcooked oven fries..a regular Maccies portion would have looked overgenerous in comparison. The cottage pie had been similarly cremated and as for our drummer, whilst he's not a big lad, he required more than the child sized portion of freezer bag scampi that he was served to bash his way through an hour and a half of rock and pop classics. The 'roaring' fire was one lump of glowing coal that made Scrooge look positively generous...btw whilst on a Christmas theme they are selling their 5 course festive dinner right now. If cremated turkey is your thing then go for it but I doubt you'd escape by Boxing Day. At £15 quid for the burger and £11 for the Scampi they were punching on price for something that was not worth eating. We should have demanded our money back as other punters did whilst we were waiting for our meal but we were so hungry after two hours we'd have eaten a scabby donkey (which would have been preferable). Next time we'll keep driving through Gisburn and find somewhere else. Btw... this was not the fault of the waiting staff who remained polite and helpful despite clearly finding it all very embarrassing.
