We have just returned from Riva after 7 nights. We stayed in a self catering apartment. There is no kettle or toaster. Boiling water on the stove but no grill pan as an alternative for making toast. We realised as soon as we arrived its in the middle of nowhere and there is nothing at all within walking distance. They asked were we hiring a car (around €250 for 3 days) but i declined as driving to Bari & back of an evening meant i couldnt have a drink. I go away to relax with a cocktail not drive everywhere :) The bus to giovinazza is 10-15 mins we had to do this when we needed a shop for bread/milk/water etc. The bus to Bari is 30 mins we had to do this each night to go out for our evening meal & drinks. There is an onsite pizzeria & restaurant which serves only fish. The hotel is lovely staff friendly & helpful (mostly) and the private beach made up for the fact it was so remote. It is stunning so we went to the beach each day (€5 each per day) We tried to go to the pool on day one but the lifeguard took our temperature (covid 19) and said “uh oh!” Apparently it was too high (also 30 degree sunshine) so we couldnt sit by the pool!! .. yet we went to the beach every day where our temperature wasnt high once. Mmm?? Prices in the hotel are very reasonable for food & drink. Fresh fruit & the berry slushes are gorgeous!! Overall we had a lovely stay but sadly its location is too far out having to get the bus every night also the last one at 10pm so couldnt enjoy our evening & stay out got a little tedious and would prevent me from going back again.

Great hotel in the heart of Bari. The train station is one step away from where you can travel anywhere. The staff is kind and helpful. The room is cultured, clean and comfortable. The restaurant is great although we only had breakfast. I don't give 5 points for one reason. The air conditioner in the room is very cold, it cannot be setup, we switched it to warmer and after a few seconds it returned to the original temperature. The location of the hotel is not in the best neighborhood. This massive city center with all its peculiarities. Like dirt, dog excrement on the street, graffiti and suspicious figures. However, the transport is very good from here to wherever you go.

We found this baby accidentally I have to say we found very good. That kind boy who answered us at the phone and then welcomed us at our arrival. Extremely spacious room is very clean. Super breakfast made in the bar under Jerome with cappuccino and scream flirts 😋. Also very comfortable because the conventional parking 2 minutes walk is perfect. It will be our first choice when we come back to Bari. The only advice I give to the property is to have an additional eye on the maintenance and use of things in the room but really simple things. The Dogana Resort is very much a 5-star hotel. It is a beautifully renovated seventeenth century palace/seminary - now with all modern features, yet without losing the simple grandeur of the building’s origins. Molfetta does is not as touristed as other larger coastal or hill towns in Puglia. In addition to feeling the rhythm of local life here, it is an excellent jumping off point for parts south, west and north. With a car there are many truly unique experiences within a few hours in each direction. At the hotel, our room (with an about 15 foot high ceiling) had a balcony overlooking Molfetta’s port. We enjoyed the vantage point, including watching the local fishing boats heading out to sea and back with their catch. The hotel front desk staff are exceptional! The team was welcoming and accommodating through our visit - answering our many questions and otherwise assisting us throughout our stay. While English is not widely spoken in Molfetta, we had no problems speaking with the bilingual front desk staff. The breakfast menu is ample, with attentive service (Dominico). And of course excellent coffee. We also quite successfully used valet parking to avoid the hassle finding a parking place between day trips.
