This is a beautiful hotel. From the reception to the room to the food in the restaurant and the location it couldn’t have been better. All the staff were amazing, especially the lovely lady on reception. We hope to return to this fabulous hotel in the future and would highly recommend.

We rented a cottage by the pond, and selected a package including 3 course dinner and massage. The room was quiet and cozy, and just a short walk to the main hotel. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Our dinner was quite lovely and substantial. The morning breakfast was quaint, with delicious fresh-pressed coffee. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. The location is just a short drive into the historic town center. If we are ever back in the area we would absolutely stay again.

Due to a cycling accident, I arrived very early at this hotel - long before check-in time. I was given a wonderful welcome and a fresh pot of coffee. I passed the morning in their charming sitting room before being shown to my room - bags carried up by a perky young bell-hop. This generosity of service and welcome carried on throughout my three-day stay. The restaurant is excellent - both the food and the service. Afternoon coffee is served on the terrace - free, with very good biscotti. The room was very comfortable - spare, in the Danish spa style - with a gorgeous view over the sea. And there are lovely coastal walks and excellent sea bathing. No crowds. And after a refreshing swim, there's the steam and sauna spa to really relax the body. And when we went to depart, and our taxi never arrived, the very friendly young desk clerk took five minutes away from his post and drove us to the train station himself. I don't think I have ever stayed in an hotel with such excellent personal service - all delivered in a very under-stated, non-showy, genuine manner.

A small classic hotel in a perfect location. We had a room with a balcony and a sea view which we found simple yet comfortable and relaxing (no TV! :-)). We enjoyed dinner and a buffet breakfast and we will certainly mention this place as our most favorite hotel of all the hotels we were in as part of our 10 day trip to Zealand - Denmark.

The hotel was a unique experience as it looks like something taken out of the Danish TV show "badehotellet". The "kaffebord" was spot on and the rooms are cozy. We went for a romantic one- night spa experience with an hour of private jacuzzi. The sauna and steam bath were available until 22 and we had it mostly to ourselves. Most of the spa facilities were candle lit giving a nice calm experience. The 3- course meal was great and we enjoyed a drink by the fireplace afterwards. It is easily accessible by train and i'll recommend walking to the town by the path along the sea after checkout.

We biked from our hotel north of Copenhagen for the 45 km schlep to Gilleleje. The first stop was the Ermitage, an old royal hunting lodge on a vast rural estate with gravel roads well suited for bikkng and large herds of semiwild deer. Our aim of the day was Gilleleje Badehotel, a posh spa-hotel on the beach ouside the erstwhile fishingvillage Gilleleje on the north Zealand coast. Terrific, spacious rooms, two balconys facing north east (no sunsets but terrific sunrise) and a great restaurant with good food and a waiter, Niels August (14) who made this trip worth while !

the room in the annex building was beyond any standard. the bath falls back to the standard of pre-opening of the iron curtain. the so called terrace was like a prison courtyard without view. the owners should not sell such a room but at least not at high season rates.

It was a great stay. The service from the staff makes all the difference. Friendly and professional. The location is great and quite. Perfect for a rest. The breakfast and the best tebirkes. The dinner was top of top. The staff deserves 5 stars. Anne-Sophie og Kristian
