Very good. It feels like one of the few good hotels to choose from. It is very clean and the service is very good. The room was upgraded for free. I hope it can continue to do well.

We had a wonderful stay in Gibbston Valley Lodge during our tour of the South Island. It offers great value for money. It was certainly much better than a more expensive hotel we also stayed in just down the road, so it scores well on comparative value for money as well as overall experience! Definitely choose Gibbston if you’re looking for luxury accommodation in the area. The lodge is beautiful, peaceful and gorgeously landscaped. The setting amongst the hills and tui birds was very relaxing and just what we needed. The restaurant offers delicious food at a reasonable price, the breakfast food was absolutely delicious! We ate in the hotel restaurant both nights of our stay. Similarly, the hot tubs and sauna were perfect for some much needed R&R and could be booked easily through the reception. The lodge itself was small but well furnished (the highlight was the private veranda and spacious bathroom). The best part of our stay was the staff who were friendly and very accommodating to us. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Had an amazing stay. The best part was the people. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. You would often bump into people at the wine bar for lunch that also looked after you at breakfast. Rooms are very large so you have plenty of room to unpack for a few nights and explore the region. A lot better option than staying in Queenstown and you can easily drive everywhere. Lots local places to eat 2 onsite and Arrowtown is very close. We hired bike for a day and really enjoyed the ride.

Surreal experience. It was one of the best places I have ever stayed at. The villas was exquisite. The experience was divine and just to be able to stay here for a short duration really elevated the whole trip experience. I wish I could have stayed here for longer.. it was so good. A must do experience for anyone visiting queenstown. Shorten your stay in the city and come stay here. You will not regret it. The wine is also really amazing. The villas from the comfort to the amenities and the service, everything gives you uber luxury. No complaints. Only compliments.

We hoped for a special getaway for our 25th anniversary and this place exceeded our expectations. Our villa was private, luxurious and so cosy during our winter trip. The lodge was impressive- amazing restaurant, hot tub and sauna with views, day spa and wonderful winery. But the service was next level. The friendliest and most considerate staff. Made our stay so special:

Had an amazing 2 night stay at the lodge, the villa was lovely, the food was so delicious, we did the winery and cave tour which was well worth doing. We also had the bikes for a day and they were so much fun, plenty of lovely scenery along the tracks. The staff at the lodge were all incredibly friendly and helpful and we hope to stay again next time we are in the area.

We recently took advantage of the lodges special winter offer package. Our first time staying in Gibbston valley rather than central Queenstown or Arrowtown and so glad we did. We've been lucky enough to stay in some special places in the New Zealand and this was certainly one of them. The lodges facilities and the size and amenities of the villas were top notch. The food is fantastic, but the thing that really made our stay was the staff. Very attentive and friendly without being intrusive. From the initial greeting, to the wait staff, everyone was fantastic. Make sure to visit the Gibbston winery and do the Cave tour. Enthusiastic tour guides celebrating their lovely wine. Of course lots of other wineries nearby to visit too. Pop in to Gibbston Tavern for a yummy Pizza as well. Thoroughly recommend.
