The Royal Blue a Luxury Beach Resort

This place is amazing. It's luxury upon luxury. It has everything you need right at your doorstep, if you're not worried about exploring the island you can stay here your entire trip and be thoroughly satisfied. It has its own beach that is sheltered from swell so it's nice and calm. Perfect for kids and snorkelers alike! The restaurants they have are all 5 star and the food is amazing. Highly recommend this resort!

This hotel is lovely. Very clean and a good sized, warm main pool. There's also the option to use the enclosed beach area which is also very pleasant. The staff are friendly and helpful and our room was clean and fresh and comfortable. A good choice of food in the main restaurant where we ate every evening. Nice bar areas and this hotel is quiet, no loud music so would recommend for those seeking a peaceful, relaxing holiday.

This was me and my partner’s first proper holiday away together for 1 week and we couldn’t have picked a better hotel. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and all the staff are so helpful and nothing is a problem for them at all as they are happy to help. We wanted to give a special mention to Panagiotis who checked us in and was really welcoming and helpful and gave us a great first impression of the hotel. He also made sure that we received cold plates to our room as we had arrived at 1am which was a nice touch as we were really tired and buggy and just wanted a quick bite before going to sleep. Throughout our stay whenever we had any questions he was always really helpful and friendly. We went half board and we would definitely recommend this as both the breakfast & dinner options were really good as there was something for everyone to choose from. If you love seafood then you will love the dinner here as everyday there is always a choice of fish. All the staff were really friendly especially reception & housekeeping. Shoutout to Dimitris as he was always very attentive and on the last day when we checked out he offered us water twice whilst we were waiting for our transfer and made sure that we were comfortable. If I had to think of an improvement I would just say that the wifi can be hit & miss, for the majority of our stay it was fine but on our last night we didn’t have any in our room. Overall if we were to come back to Crete we would definitely stay here again & highly recommend to everyone! Thank you for such a great stay & making our first holiday so memorable

We have just finished our 10 night stay at Royal Blue. This is our seventh visit and it never fails to disappoint. The hotel is small and initimate in lovely gardens. It’s quite just what you need for a relaxing break. Near to the village of Panormos via the Little Train if you fancy a change from the hotel buffet but if you don’t there are plenty of options at the hotel. We had the degustation menu and the chef accommodated my fussy eating by replacing the fish dishes with alternatives well worth the 90 euros each we paid. The staff are amazing and very helpful - always ready with a smile a credit to Mr Lefteris and the rest of the management team. The breakfast buffet is vast and there is something for everyone. The pool or the beach - choice is yours - we prefer the pool area. Don’t read the negative reviews - this is an amazing place to stay and you won’t be disappointed. We’ll be returning again next year.

We've just come back from an incredible holiday at The Royal Blue. The staff are absolutely wonderful, with a calm serenity and friendliness that you just don't find in many places. Everybody we spoke to was a delight. The holiday could have started off poorly, as there was an issue with our room, but they placed us in one of the premier suites for the first night which was over and beyond any expectations we may have had. The room we had for the rest of the week was very comfortable and had the most wonderful view. Watching sunsets from the balcony was a great way to spend the evening. The facilities are best in class, with several pools and a private beach, and the food choices were amazing. Sadly I've come home much heavier than when I flew out there, but it was worth every sumptuous mouthful. Highly recommend spending a week or two in paradise.

From start to finish I’ve never felt so looked after on a holiday. The place was beautiful, and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. The ambience of the Royal Blue makes you feel so relaxed, add that to the stunning views over the Sea of Crete and it just created an amazing holiday. The food was lovely, with such a variety available at the resort, and with lovely restaurants/tavernas at Panormos a short taxi ride away. Thank you Royal Blue Karl

I arrived home this morning after the most relaxing week at this gorgeous hotel with one of my best friends. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome by all of the staff we spoke to in the Reception area. The check in process was seamless and we were soon on our way to our room in a golf buggy. Our room was perfect for the two of us to share. A huge bed, lovely bathroom and a gorgeous sea view from the balcony. We were half board and found the food at breakfast and dinner to be of a high standard, as well as there always being good variety. We ate at the Alati restaurant most lunchtimes and enjoyed each dish that we had from there; grilled halloumi, Caesar salad, gyros, etc. So convenient as it’s right by the main pool and all of the staff were so friendly! Each day by the pool, we were offered fresh fruit & cold towels as well as occasionally being brought samples of piña coladas. All lovely touches! We had a day by the beach, opting for a cabana. So comfortable with different options of sun loungers, deck chair & a huge bean bag style chair. Our room was cleaned everyday, as well as being left bottles of water - another nice touch! The weather was perfect during our stay - I love it hot & hot is what I got! There tends to be a lovely breeze at the main pool which helps! There were always plenty of sun loungers at the main pool, adult pool and beach. The hotel has a really luxurious and exclusive feel and I’m certain that this added to how relaxed and stress-free we both felt during our stay. We decided to venture out one evening and caught the little road train from just outside the hotel and went into Panormos. The train was really easy to catch & the staff on Reception were more than happy to give us information on this. The journey was €10 for two adult return tickets - certainly can’t complain about that! I couldn’t fault our stay at all, it was just amazing and I would definitely return!

Very nice location with beautiful sunset The service is excellent, people are very carry Small inconvenience with our room not ready from day 1 but we were upgraded to a very nice sea view front row Food was ok. Chefs were very nice same for the waiters but the food could have been more local. Beach is ok but missing some charm 2 swimming pools one salted the other not. Hotel is not too big (height) it looks like a small Greek village this is very nice.

To be greeted by a welcoming smile, a chilled ambience, the start to the holiday - check in was a breeze. Taken to our rooms, the room was perfect, clean and tidy, quiet a/c (needed!), there was my wife, my daughter and myself in the room, and there was plenty of space. After a good night sleep, time to tackle breakfast in the dining room. Apprehensive because normally it’s a free for all, but no, calm and controlled, greeted by lovely people taken to our table, and everything explained. The pool area was clean. Plenty of good quality sun beds, sea water main pool, it was great. Bar service can be called, or you can order from the APP (you can download a royal blue app). The private beach area was clean, you can reserve cabanas by speaking to billy at the beach bar. The beach was clean and tidy, protected by a breakwater, it’s not tough to swim or snorkel, and a small area is shallow for little ones. Both the beach and the pool areas have stations where you can pick up towels. We had a room with a shared pool, a smaller pool directly outside our room, shared with 3 other rooms. Again salt water, and we struck lucky having it mostly to ourselves. There is also a table and chairs and two sun loungers outside our room. There are rooms which have their own pool, a nice touch and well worth it, a touch of seclusion and private space. There is also an adult only pool, not seawater, so everyone is catered for. We visited the spa for a massage, and it was one of the best we have had, good value for money, and came out very relaxed. The bar service during the day was good, good value for money, offering drinks and food. The evening buffet food was delightful, something for everyone, good quality. The best part was watching the certain sunset in the evening at the bar. Purely magical. As much as I don’t want to let anyone know about this great find, do not hesitate to stay here.
