The Royal Senses Resort Crete, Curio Collection by Hilton

Hotel is not close to anything. Need to drive 5-10 minutes to the closest village for food etc. but it’s a very pretty seaside village. Room is ok. Need to have better shower drainage. Planning of the hotel is just not very thoughtful. Should have one funicular on both sides of this large hotel. The changing room for the swimming pool is like a 5 minutes walk away. Doesn’t make sense. And why did they put so much salt in the pool? Restaurant food was very mediocre and service was slow. So many hotel choices in Crete and this is definitely not the best.

Arrived early hours and were greeted with our case being taken to our room while we were given warm towels to freshen up. The rooms were on a hill but you get a member of staff drive you up to them on a golf cart. The rooms are extremely nice, lovely views out to the sea and the swim up pool is amazing. Room service is prompt and good ordered arrived warm and quick. All in all probably the nicest hotel I’ve been to and would definitely return

Upon arrival on the 23/08/2024 at about 23:30 we’ve been welcomed by friendly staffs who assisted us with our luggages. Hotel looks stunning. Absolutely gorgeous. However, the room that I originally booked which supposed to have a private pool apparently have “technical issues” and we were given a different room without the private pool and we’re told to go back to reception the following morning so they can sort it and they will move us to a different room which I originally booked. A bit disappointing due to we were not able to unpack and missed half of the following day waiting around to be moved. About 9:00am of 24/08/2024 we spoke to Yvette (manager) she was really nice and apologetic, she went above and beyond basically to compensate us for the mishaps. She told us we can carry on with our planned activities while waiting to be moved, but we chose to wait because we are worried about our luggages. We didn’t get our room until about 13:00. She also told us we can keep our room until 20:00pm on our last night of 27/08/2024 which we are really happy about. However, after our dinner about 19:30pm when we went back to our room to get our luggages on our last night we couldn’t open our room and had to go back to reception which is disappointing as they know my husband is disabled and our room is quite far from the lobby and on the 2nd level. They apologised again and we just let it go. We head back to our room, got our luggages and went back to the reception to check out then we were told that there is a charge for using the mini bar which made me a bit annoyed as we never touch anything from the fridge as we are always out and buying our drinks and snacks out. The lady at reception said it was okay and she will just take it off the bill but the main point is it made us feel like we are lying about consuming stuff from their fridge. Anyways, it was a nice holiday overall. Just want to appreciate Michael and the rest of the team in the restaurants, also the housekeeping.

As soon as we arrived we were very tired of the travel, Costas at the reception gave us the best impression that we are on the place to be for a memorable moment, very nice guy drive us to our room and explain us about everything, we didn’t have dinner, and it was dishes waiting for us in the room, our feeling was the best ever. The best of what we’ll never forget it’s the staff quality, how wonderful are they; They all working so hard, and always keeping smiling and makes you feel your are not just a simply guest, or a simply room number, they recognize you,… Perfect cuisine, and cocktails during all our stay, the buffet seems always a bit different than the day before, accompanied of lived music, great atmosphere. cos yes you can have the most beautiful swimming pool, the best location, best spa ever, without human spirit it doesn’t sounds the same, a massive and sincerely thank you to all the team from all departments the ones on back stage but also the ones on stage who represents perfectly everyone by distinctive guests services Ioannis, katerina, Cassandra, and Rafaella, from Gea Restaurant, also Maria from spa department, whose mades our stay shining and makes feel like we never want to leave that place. Can’t wait to coming back.

Excellent hotel with amazing staff. Delicious food (superb with allergies), great swimming pools/ slide pool, some evening live music, easy access to beach with clear water with many fish to see. Many excursions can be booked from the hotel such as Bali Travel quadbiking which was loads of fun. We hired a car and enjoyed visiting the honey museum, olive factory, Reptisland and Kronos Lake to see the turtles and pedalo/swim- all really good. Overall a fantastic holiday, we reccomend it!
