When checking in, don't pay the tourism tax again! My payment on Trip.com included the tourism tax, but the counter staff asked me for it again. It took him a while to confirm it in his printout.
I booked for one night and then extended my stay, but changed room in the process. The first room was rather warm, being on the top floor, and the toilet in the first room was about one by two metres. The second room was better in both aspects. However, there was no tissue available, and the toilet paper was of rather low quality.
While the traffic is alright outside of peak hours, there were hardly any stores within a short distance. Gurney Walk would be the nearest place to buy food and water, or exchange money.
