Location – If you’re a deep sleeper, you might be fine, but otherwise, be prepared for some noise! The hotel is close to a mosque and nightclubs, so you’ll hear music until 3 AM, then drunk people shouting outside, and at 5 AM, prayers blasted over loudspeakers.
There’s also a local hangout spot nearby where some intoxicated people gather. One of them approached me—he was friendly but definitely not sober, and the conversation was barely understandable. It didn’t feel unsafe, but it was uncomfortable.
Overall, this was not what I expected. Maybe I should have done more research, but after a month in Malaysia, I hadn’t run into anything like this before.
Cleanliness – It's OK.
Service – The people working here are truly great, and this might be one of the best hotel teams I have ever met – friendly and helpful. There was a hiccup at check-in when a girl requested that I pay three times more tax than I should have, but she later admitted her mistake shortly.
Facilities – I think that, for the price, the facilities are excellent.
Overall – A good hotel with a bad location. There is a nightclub nearby, which Muslims probably wouldn’t appreciate, and a mosque that broadcasts prayers with multiple loudspeakers, making you want to jump out of bed and pray for it to stop at 5 AM. This was shocking to me, considering that I have spent a considerable amount of time in Turkey.
