Great location near Komtar. Staff were very warm and friendly. Dorm was private and cozy.

I’m from Thailand, I‘m traveling alone, I booked the room on the same day that I arrive. The receptionist who is the owner very nice and kind to me. I strongly recommend this hotel to everyone. Very friendly staff, clean space and quiet but social downstairs sitting area. Would have appreciated a free towel, other than that everything was great, especially the location! 5min away from china town!

There was abit of mildew smell on the first night. One bed was lopsided. Real situation of the guesthouse is abit different from photo

Overall are great but my concern is parking space are very limited. Furthermore very soon this location are surrounded by hotel

Dou Houz is in a good location, and the rooms are clean. I would definitely recommend this hostel if you are staying in Georgetown

Good location. Security is good because it uses code. It's just that they weren't given towels. Self check in.. the room little bit hot.

The outside is being renovated, and the inside may be renovated slowly by myself. Even the door handle is broken. The room is for 4 people. I thought it was divided into girls' and boys' rooms, but it turned out that a little boy was divided into two rooms that afternoon, and he was divided into two rooms the next day. . It is surrounded by old areas, and check-in does not cost the 6 ringgit indicated by Ctrip. I booked this youth hostel just because I was working alone. I arranged the bed in the upper bunk. The fan couldn't be fixed, so I could only shake my head. The air conditioner was also not working. The air conditioner and fan on the upper bunk were blowing towards each other. If you look closely, the air conditioner was full of air. It's gray. I carried it like this for three nights. Fortunately, I was well prepared and brought dirty sheets and other things. Cheap and convenient are just ignored. The exterior and the first floor are still passable, and you must prepare slippers and change your shoes every time you go back. The soundproofing is very poor, so it won't be suitable for those with sleep disorders. There is a broadcast from the mosque at 6 o'clock every morning, and there is an open-air karaoke next door at night which is quite noisy.

Overall, it was a good value hostel as it was close to Komtar, was clean, had a kitchen, and had a good value for money. I thought it needed some tidying up, as the curtains and other items that would be used for the partition were thrown into disarray in the unusable washroom (on the first floor).Also, the hostel staff is (usually) absent, so When checking in, there is the inconvenience of having to ask one of the guests near the entrance (entrance, lobby and dining space) to open the door from the inside first. The shower room was also clean, the amount of hot water was sufficient, and the drain was flowing well.

We stayed in a bunk room. My parents slept on the lower bed, and my husband and I slept on the upper bed. Overall, the environment was quite good, except that the shower room in our room was relatively small, and the sound insulation between the rooms was not very good. But it was not a big problem. When we checked in, the tenants we met were basically very civilized and did not make loud noises. Then I suggest that if you rent the same room type, you can go to the public toilet outside the room to take a shower or go to the toilet. I think the shared toilet outside is cleaner and more spacious. Overall, I think it is quite good and cost-effective. There are many delicious foods to eat when you walk out. I will stay here next time I go to Penang!

There is a difference with the picture, the room is very old. There is almost no soundproofing in the room. The noise outside was very clear, and it was very noisy in the second half of the night

Hotel located near Komtar, the tower overlooking Penang city. Good location, located next to a Citadines hotel and a store where you can find a little bit of everything. The hotel is also located next to one of the buses leading to the airport. There is a water fountain to cool off and tables/chairs to rest. The rooms are relatively large, so the air conditioning is not too cold.
