Very homely and cosy hotel which exudes historic charm. It is extremely clean and the staff there are very warm, responsive and attentive to guest’s needs and requests. Location is very convenient, it is walking distance to many famous spots and yummy eateries. Highly recommended!

Hotel is nicely decorated and looked very antique. Room is spacious and clean. Very good location, friendly walking distance to George Town and most of the sights. The complimentary afternoon tea offered by the hotel was tasty and in good portioning. The Wifi was very weak and not connectable most of the time. And the TV couldn’t work as there was basically no network available which stopped you from watching Netflix, YouTube and Prime TV etc.

I booked a family room. The room was very comfortable. The staff was also very nice. They were very considerate. I stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. I had a very happy time in Penang. Guests who stayed for more than 2 days can get afternoon tea coupons. The snacks were Nyonya snacks. You can choose coffee and tea. I like it here very much. Everything is very relaxing. If friends come here, I will definitely recommend it.

What a pleasant surprise! My entire trip to Malaysia was filled with surprises and a truly wonderful experience. The Penang story is truly beautiful. I'm not sure if it's authentically Peranakan, but at least it has a strong Chinese influence. The hotel has a small but exquisite selection of spacious, clean, modern amenities, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They even offer Peranakan dim sum.

We stayed in room Bamboo 02, on the second floor facing the street. Honestly, my previous room on the first floor was quite quiet, as it was on the side facing away from the street. However, when we moved upstairs, the roar of motorcycles kept me awake all night. I really hope the owner will consider replacing the windows; the soundproofing is terrible. I can't imagine how anyone could sleep in such an environment.
The service was excellent. We stayed two days straight, and the hotel provided afternoon tea with Nyonya cakes. Since we didn't eat in the afternoon, they packed the cakes and fruit and left them in our room. The fruit was also thoughtfully placed in the refrigerator, which was very touching.
The overall hotel design is quite good, but the soundproofing was a bit of a headache. If it could be improved, I'd definitely stay again.
