We had a fantastic 2-night stay at The George Penang Hotel with a group of friends. The hotel is beautiful, elegantly designed, and perfectly located — within walking distance to many popular eateries, shops, and bars, making it very convenient for exploring George Town.
Our rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with complimentary snacks and drinks, which was a lovely touch. We especially enjoyed the nutmeg drink served in the lounge — it was very refreshing and nice. Although one of our four rooms had an air-conditioning issue upon check-in, the staff responded promptly and got it fixed quickly.
All the hotel staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, but we want to give a special shout-out to Syafia in particular. When we ran into trouble with a Grab driver who kept getting further away despite accepting our airport ride, Syafia immediately stepped in, offered solutions, and quickly helped us secure another car — which arrived in less than 5 minutes. His quick thinking, professionalism, and warm attitude made a real difference and we’re incredibly thankful for his help.
We highly recommend The George Penang for its charm, comfort, great service, and unbeatable location. Would definitely love to return!

Friendly staff at check-in. Housekeeping did a terrific job. So near to street food, exploring heritage places. Love the complimentary nutmeg cocktail welcome drink. Will definitely be back again! 🤩👍

Our company organized a team trip to Penang and chose George Crest as our accommodation—and it turned out to be a great choice. The hotel provided a comfortable and stylish setting that worked well for both rest and informal team bonding.
Rooms were clean, modern, and well-equipped with everything we needed after long days of team activities and exploring the city. The ambiance of the hotel struck a nice balance between heritage charm and modern design, which everyone appreciated.
The staff’s customer service was professional and attentive throughout our stay. They made check-ins smooth, assisted with local recommendations, and ensured our group’s needs were met efficiently. It was clear they were experienced in handling group stays, which made the entire trip run more smoothly.
The location was also a major plus—close to George Town’s attractions and eateries, making it easy for the team to explore during free time.
Overall, George Crest was a comfortable and pleasant base for our company trip, We would like to especially compliment all the concierge and bellboy staff for their warm hospitality and prompt assistance throughout our stay. Their friendly demeanor and efficiency made a great impression on our entire trip

Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Water from tap was potable and first round of the mini bar was complimentary.
Visited the pool and it was 1.2m deep. Good enough for a swim. However the water can be quite cold for some. Towels are available for use at the pool.
Did not opt for the breakfast as there are too many options in the vicinity but saw that most guests enjoyed it.
The welcome drink at the bar was lovely and exotic.
Check out was also a breeze and our luggages were kept safe till ready to be collected.
Special mention goes to Mr. Elan who made sure we were checked out nicely and received our feedback readily. All smiles and I'm sure all staff also rub off from his jovial character.

Quiet hotel with big room and great breakfast. Most importantly, it’s not crowded with guests at breakfast and restaurants.
The Japanese toilet bowl is like the ones in the Japanese hotels. Near many food outlets and just use grab to move around.

We encountered a cockroach crawling across the room upon entering, which was quite off-putting. Since we checked in late, we decided not to change rooms, as the alternative offered was farther away and less convenient for our children. Additionally, the shower room wall had visible mold, as shown in the photo.
On the positive side, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the hotel’s central location made it easy to reach various places affordably via Grab.
However, for a 5-star hotel, hygiene issues like this should not be a concern.

This is our 2nd time staying in this hotel. The location is good. Customer services stuff is also very friendly. Room cleaning did a good job. Will sure come back again. Beside the hotel there is a Emily cafe very nice place with yummy cake and pastry.

It was my Boyfriends Birthday. He was happy with the room. Room was clean super clean. Amenities was top notch. Highly recomended. But rooms was not worth the price actually. Other than price all was okay
