Hotel President Wilson, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Geneva

Good hotel if you want to be on the promenade but some 30 minutes walk to the station. However hotel can help with the taxi if you need one. Rooms were clean and airconditioned. Good hotel however for my feeling it’s more of a 4 stars than 5.

I recently experienced the pinnacle of luxury during my one-week stay in the Royal Penthouse Suite at the Hotel President Wilson in Geneva. We are a Marriott-staying family. We arrived to a pleasant employee at check in and were checked in and escorted to our rooms immediately. The hotel is nice, clean and in a good area. What we didn't like... the hotel seemed to "nickle and dime" for everything! In all my years of staying in hotels, I've never seen the hotel charge for coffee in the room. We also had the unpleasant surprise that Switzerland needs its own electrical adapter (which we didn't have), but we could pay $13 to use the one in the hotel room. For a $650+ per night room, throw in the adapter and coffee. We booked two rooms (4 people) and were given two complimentary breakfasts (due to Marriott status). I will never understand that. Why not throw in the other two for your loyal customers? The bathroom was nice with all needed amenities. The exit from the bathtub is treacherous though. This was a nice place to stay but left an ick feeling for charging for everything. Bring walking shoes, the city is very walkable!
