Visionapartments Place de Cornavin - Contactless Check-IN

Apartment and location were fine, but checking in around 5.30pm was a nightmare. Reception was not staffed, and I was not sent an access code in advance, so had to scan the QR code on the street door. This asked for my name and booking reference, but it did not accept my ******* email itinerary number; it eventually worked with the confirmation number from ******* itinerary web page. This opened a form where I had to enter all of my passport details *and* upload a photo of my passport, prompting an email that said the access code would be sent only if they received a picture of my ID, and included another reservation number. Using the QR code a third time with that number prompted another email saying the self-check-in process had been completed and that an access code would be sent if payment had been completed, but no code arrived. We were rescued by a very helpful member of staff (Aimée) who was just about to leave for the evening; she called the office who promised to look into it. After another 5-10 minutes they sent the access code and we were able to get in. If we'd arrived slightly later and had not been helped by Aimée we would have been unable to access the apartment - the office number on the door is only available until 6pm. OK, partly my fault for not noticing the instructions "To make arrangements for check-in please contact the property at least 24 hours before arrival using the information on the booking confirmation. Prior to arrival, guests must complete online registration with the property via a secure link", way down on the ******* confirmation email, but it doesn't really make clear how to do that, and it also said "The front desk is open daily from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM", which was not true. VISIONAPARTMENTS did send me two emails in advance via *******, neither of which mentioned the registration process. The first one said "To facilitate smoother communication regarding your reservation, we encourage you to contact us with your direct email address. Please feel free to get in touch with us at ----@--------.---."; presumably they are unaware that ******* ***** out email addresses from such communications, so I wouldn't have been able to send them my address that way. Their second email, one the day before our arrival, just said "we just want to be sure that you have all the informations you need", without mentioning that I hadn't completed registration.

Rooms are good. Right across from the train station that would get you straight to the airport. Decent hotel.

Great location, reasonable price and the continental breakfast was very good. Great coffee too! 🙏
