Buddha Resort

The people running this place are fantastic and very, very helpful. Siargao, overall, is in need of infrastructure, water, electicity, etc. That is no reflection on this small hotel. It is under renovation, with a pool and updated restaurant going in. I was disappointed because their older Thai restaurant had great ratings. Siargao may not be for older people, except to tour around and look at the green. I fell getting out of a canoe (the guide was great and well-informed). Hand rails for older people are lacking. I'm an old sailor and did enjoy the boat trip around but don't have my sea legs anymore and was concerned about falling again. But the hotel was great. It was within walking distance of nearly everything and tuk-tuk ride of everything else. The people of Siargao were very nice.

Buddha's is a small, almost family-like, cozy resort with approximately 10 rooms, all in generally good condition. We experienced an issue with a non-flushing toilet for about two days, which was attributed to heavy rainfall. This unexpected rainfall also prompted us to leave earlier than planned, although it did cause a two-day delay in our departure due to canceled flights. The Buddha's team is exceptionally friendly and helpful, truly top-notch, not only when it comes to surfing but also with any other requests or concerns you may have. The location, like many neighboring hotels, is not right on the beach but on the other side of the road, which can sometimes be audible. Nevertheless, you'll feel surrounded by palm trees and other lush vegetation, almost as if you're in the middle of the jungle. Dining occasionally at the resort's restaurant is worthwhile; while the menu may not be extensive, the quality of the cuisine is outstanding. However, fear not, as there are plenty of other delicious restaurants nearby to explore as well.

Buddha is still rebuilding after Typhoon Odette and you can feel it when there. The restaurant is being reconstructed, yoga is not available. It would be nice if they mentioned this during booking but there was none until after deposit was paid. The sink in our bathroom was falling off the wall and when this was mentioned to the staff on duty at the time the only response was “oh, yes.” The aircon also had a leak which drips onto the shelves provided for clothing. All the staff are very nice but there is a difference in their ability/willingness to help guests. At least until the renovations are completed, did not find this great value for money. I think there are better options.

I’ve been craving for a Thai Cuisine coz I miss Thailand so much and came to stumble the Restaurant of Buddha Resort it has a good selection of meals. Going from breakfast to dinner. Menu is perfect and something for everyone. CHEF ANN did really great in serving exquisite thai cuisine, you guys must try their pad thai and brulee coz it was so gooodddd! Service was awesome as well, will definitely go back! 🤗🤗🤗
