Hotel Angerer Alm

Fantastic week, food consistently amazing, like being at a Michelin restaurant, breakfast buffet delicious with lots of choice, staff second to none, best hotel staff I have ever experienced , can’t recommend highly enough. Only slight negative was hot in communal areas and bedrooms quite hot.

We stayed for a weeks skiing at the end of January. The hotel was amazing. Brilliant staff throughout the hotel and the breakfast and evening meals were exceptional. Position is very handy for the slopes and the spa is wonderful. We will certainly look to return to this beautiful place.

Best 4* hotel I’ve ever stayed in. My husband and I spent a week here while skiing. The staff were very welcoming, efficient and helpful. The food was delicious. Each night there were between 5 and 7 courses with plenty of choice. Much of the food was locally sourced and it was very well presented. Breakfast had a good selection of cold meats, cheeses, cereals, breads etc with bacon and eggs as a hot option. Our room faced south and had a balcony. It was comfortable with lots of storage and a compact en-suite which was always warm enough to dry damp ski gear. Nice touches were complementary sunscreen for your face, and use of a bathrobe, slippers and bag to take to the pool/sauna with a handy clothes peg on it with your room number. The two main lifts were up stairs just across the road. The ski shop was close by and skis and boots were stored in a room on the ground floor of the hotel. Boots dried out there overnight. The snow was excellent and there were no queues for the lifts. There are only 2 buses a day to Obergurgl otherwise it’s the gondola and a bus - or a taxi. The Angerer Alm was a great place to stay and we would happily return

Photos on TripAdvisor don’t do this place justice. Bar area is light and modern, yet managing to retain its original charm. Rooms are lovely and spacious. Outdoor balcony and indoor sofa area. Kids loved the pool. Sauna and fitness room too. Owners very friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent, evening meal varied and delicious. Very close to lifts and ski school. Easy to pop back for lunch if you want easy option to fit in with kids lessons. Our third stay in Obergurgl/Hochgurgl and would definitely recommend this place.

We have been skiing for nearly 30 years and take 2 or 3 ski holidays each year. We have both declared that this is the best ski hotel we have ever stayed in. Close to the slopes, lovely room overlooking slopes, spotlessly clean, friendly staff, food to die for and nice spa and pool area. The gala meal on Sunday was gorgeous and the choice of mains every evening was exceptional. The menus had a 'french nouveau' style to them with lovely sauces and seasoning. Plenty for my hungry husband

This was our first time to this ski area. The hotel was lovely. The room was comfy and very clean (very warm)! The food and hospitality was fantastic. Incredibly close to one of the chairs , with virtually never a queue! It was a lovely, small resort. Had a fabulous time , and we will definitely go back.
