Bay City (Geelong) Motel

Great hotel. Our room was upstairs. Clean, comfortable and spacious room. Excellent friendly staff. The location is perfect for a stroll down to the bay to walk along or into town to the many restaurants or shopping.
Rydges Geelong, an EVT hotel

The hotel is in prime location for a game at GMHBA which was our main purpose. It was serviceable but limited options for dining and other activities nearby
Tasman Holiday Parks - Geelong

We arrived late at the hotel. We arrived at 8 or 9 o'clock. The front desk of the hotel left an envelope in the mailbox of the front desk, indicating the location of the room, but did not leave the key, and reminded us to check out the next morning at 10 o'clock ~ The room was early and late, and I stayed very nervous for one night. After finding the location of the house marked in the envelope, it was found that the door of the wooden house was unlocked and the key was placed inside. Feeling insecure. This house is a wooden house, but the taste in the room is really old, and the overall experience is very average.

The Waterfront Apartments, Geelong
4.4/591 Reviews
It appears from reading reviews that these apartments are owned and booked by different people. We booked via Stayz and hosted by Bridget. We had a 2 bedroom apartment on the 7th floor overlooking the bay (though behind a low set building in front). It was brilliant. Clean, large and lovely. Looked newly refurbished ? . We received check in instructions from another lady which were clear and easy. Yes the car park is small but we had a midsize car so no problem. The location can’t be beat…. 50 m to the waterfront and 50m to Westfield including the chemist and supermarket. The only thing I would change is that there was no milk provided which is a standard for any accomodation I have stayed in. We arrived at midnight after flying from interstate and desperately needed a cup of tea (which was provided… but no milk). It is also not cheap but you get what you pay for.
Parkside Motel Geelong

Rooms comfortable. Signs everywhere, including the greeting at reception, notifying the risk of setting off the smoke alarm. The risk of fines and the inconvenience was strongly communicated. From close to midnight and for the next hour of our stay the fire alarm went off. First response was the owner telling us it was a false alarm. The next three alarms were 15 minutes apart and no response was provided from the owner. Not only was this totally disturbing throughout the night, the false alarms left us questioning if the alarm was faulty. No emergency services attended any of the alarms and truly, the question is, is the alarm linked to a base system. Due to the overkill of communication about setting off the smoke alarm, one would wonder if the gentleman/owner is fully aware the smoke alarm is faulty and possibly illegal. The accommodation charges you extra by the hour if you attempt to check in early and then fire alarms disrupt your overnight stay. The rooms were comfortable enough, the continuous setting off of fire alarms produced a nervous nights stay.
