The location of this hotel is so great. I drove and navigated until the last 0.8 miles without finding it. I felt like I was on the wrong road and was surrounded by the Scottish wilderness. Then suddenly a row of wooden houses appeared with lights and cafe signs. It felt warm when I entered the house. It feels good, but it's a little expensive. I checked in at the bar counter and didn't go through any formalities.

Very nice road side stay in a good location for where we wanted to go. Room was small but comfortable. Bathroom had everything you needed. Nice sized lounge area. Smallish bar with bare essentials. Dinner and breakfast were great. The Venison Bourguignon and the Haggis Pizza were awesome! Breakfast was full Scottish. Friendly staff.

Located just off A835 yet we didn’t hear the traffic from our room. The en-suite room was spacious enough for our 3-night stay. We would have liked a little more wardrobe space but that’s a minor thing. The tea & coffee facilities plus a little ‘fridge were very useful for preparing lunch for day hikes. It was clean and tidy everywhere. We ate in the restaurant each evening & the home-cooked meals were delicious. The buffet-style breakfast was well presented. The attention given to our gluten-free requirements was much appreciated. The owners and staff were very friendly even when they were obviously extremely busy. Location great for Ben Wyvis and the W.Fannichs and the glorious weather helped too. We would definitely re-visit.

Really lovely place to stay . The staff were fabulous, rooms clean and comfortable. We stayed a week and traveled out every day , returning for a piping hot evening meal, of the highest standard . We tried chicken with haggis , who knew it could be such a delicious combination. We worked our way through the menu with nothing below perfect . We did most of the 500 , LockNess, Inverness, Ben Nevis ,John O Groats , all doable from this central location. The Highlands even had sun when we were there !! Fabulous !

All rooms with great views of the surrounding hills. Pleanty of free parking. rooms on ground floor. Good selection of beers and whisky Best of dinner was Meat soup, Venison Casserole and Poached plums with ice cream. Fresh cooked breakfast -very tasty

This was my second time staying at the Aultguish Inn, as it's in such a great spot to explore. I stayed for two nights and used it to explore the area around and to the north of Ullapool. As was the case last time, the bed was really comfortable and views were lovely. I must admit I was a little chilly in there though. The radiators came on, but often we're only just warm. Breakfast was really good (self service) as was the evening meal I had there. It was a smaller menu than last time, but I don't think that's a bad thing. The family that run the hotel are really warm and welcoming, but there was one younger staff member (who checked me in when I arrived) who I felt didn't have that same level of customer service. All in all though, I enjoyed my stay, and I'll be sure to stay again.

Had a meal here last night. There was a limited menu which when we gave our order they had to check to see if it was available. To be fair the main (Rob Roy chicken) was very nice, the dessert was disappointing we ordered ice cream, after being told that our chosen flavour was unavailable we changed our choice, unfortunately when it arrived one flavour was ice cream, but the other was sorbet, not what was ordered. To top it all there is an automatic 10.01% service charge which we knew nothing of. 😥

Comfortable long established roadside inn in fabulous remote location . Ideal for hill walkers and cyclists . Great bar meals ( with Transylvanian choices !) and friendly new owners . Comfortable modern rooms and lots are twins which are ideal for walkers and cyclist groups

My wife and I called an audible on our trip to western Scotland. We were in Oban, and were planning on taking a ferry from Ullapool. We quickly saw that driving the same morning wouldn’t work. My wife found the Aultguish Inn and booked us a night. We pulled in and were able to check in right away (we got there right at 4). Going into it we knew our room would have two twin beds. No big deal. The room was small. Two twin beds and no room to lay out suitcases. Again, no big deal. Small bathroom and shower. I’m a tall guy so the shower was a tight fit. Beds were ok and the room was very clean. If you stay here: bring a nightlight! The fan runs when the bathroom light is on. So if you need some light, that is a must. We are dinner at the restaurant. I had a surprisingly good pepperoni pizza. Breakfast buffet was good enough to start the day.
