We stayed here for 10 nights half board and had two rooms. Upon arrival we were offered to upgrade for 100 euros (10 euros per night) or alternatively the lady on the desk pointed outside and said otherwise you are down there by the bushes. Felt like a little bit of a shake down on upgrading which gave me an uneasy feeling to start. We did this however for 1 room and got a room opposite this for the paid price. There are no size differences in the room for upgrading just the pool view. Rooms - these are quite small with just enough room to put your suitcases away if you use the space well. The rooms had air conditioning I did see a review that said they didn't but both ours did. We were on the third floor. The shower is quite an enclosed space so for bigger people (height or wide) it is not great I'm 6ft and slim and found it quite tight. Cleanliness- lots of reviews rave about cleaning and I agree it is to a very high standard although we did have a cobweb and spider in our room for the duration. The ceilings are quite high and it wasn't bothering us. Noise we heard people a couple of times but didn't have issues with this and found it quiet. Food - as people have stated you are given a menu at breakfast (buffet) to select your dishes this is every day except for arrival days Wednesday and Saturdays when it is a buffet. I would say the food is very average and on reflection would probably not have gone half board if I had known what the food would be like. You can select three dishes on menu days and they usually consist of something like a pasta to start with a meat/fish dish to follow (the other dish will generally be a vegetarian veg dish) lastly is dessert which in general were awful with a poor selection and almost no selection on buffet days (tiramisu only) My boy who is 12 ate from the kids menu as the main menu didn't really suit him. He would get a small margherita and chips. (He had this every day due to allergies). No pudding option for kids which was bizarre Service at meals is a disaster and that is being nice we had a couple of evenings where we were in there for 2 hours and not because we wanted to be. Taking orders was painful (they are on the table when you arrive and they use these to know what you selected at breakfast), getting staff attention was tricky you had to just go to them. They seem to have someone wondering up and down not doing anything (certainly aren't organising). Drink orders were slow to be taken often incorrectly delivered. The service was so bad you looked forward to buffet days at least you could get your own food and just had to worry about what drink if any would turn up. Other than the food being average the service at the hotel excluding the desk and the main bar was atrocious. You will get a table on your first day and that is your table for your visit (half board at least). Pool - I had seen positives about the pool so wasn't too concerned other than the pool bar reviews I had seen being negative

Went here as a surprise 21 st for my daughter who loves Italy the hotel is in a fantastic location clean through out spotless pool although may need a hot water bottle on exiting as it is not heated! Although youngest there we made very welcome, a bit weird choosing evening meal at breakfast. Breakfast we could not fault evening meal basic not even sure what main meal was at times! As there are many many places to eat that cater for all budgets if we were to return would only do bed and breakfast all in all get what u pay for.

Excellent holiday at la Perla, brilliant hotel. You want for nothing, everything you need is in your room ,free safe ,small fridge, and a kettle . Lovely comfy bed. Could do with a mirror on the dressing table. The food was great ,really good choice for breakfast , at breakfast you have a menu choice for your evening meal . While there we choose things we weren't sure of ,but we were not disappointed with anything. Pool area was beautiful , lovely pool, plenty of sunbeds. Bag in your room with pool towels in for you to take to the pool . Very close to the Lake and bus station. Ideal location. Garda is stunning, loved every minute of our holiday. Thank you all staff at La Perla.

Hotel was basic but very comfortable and clean and had everything you need. Food was plentiful and delicious really liked the idea of having the same table throughout our stay. My only gripe is that on a rainy day there was no where to get any food and drinks during the day without having to walk into town, the hotel is really missing a trick here guests are spending their money outside the hotel instead of at the hotel maybe this is something the hotel should think of in the future.

My parents and I booked to stay at this hotel in May next year. Unfortunately, we received an email this week to say the hotel is changing from a La Carte to a buffet style evening meal. To say we are disappointed is an understatement!!! Some may not understand, but my parents and I do not enjoy buffet food for several reasons, and I can not say that we have ever had a good experience with buffets. I can just about endure it at breakfast, but for an evening meal, we like to enjoy this with the people we are with rather than getting up and down for food, drinks, and spend time queueing. We often find people touching food with their hands and not being very hygienic, which is not pleasant and puts us off our food. Often food is not hot or replenished. If we had known it was a buffet, we definitely wouldn't have booked elsewhere. You may read this and think we are being petty and we should cancel and book elsewhere, but we each have our own opinions, plus we do not wish to lose our deposit, which is a lot of money to us; we work hard all year to be able to go on holiday, and we reasearch everywhere we decide to go. We understand the hotel may have their reasons to do this, but it is definitely already not a great start before we have even arrived, as it has already given us a bad impression of the hotel. I feel the hotel should honour bookings already made based on it being an a La Carte, but clearly that won't happen from the email we received. I'm afraid offering soft drinks and wine does not make up for this change; something else we have to queue for, as food is the large part of a great holiday, which we feel a buffet often does not come close to providing. We are not happy at all!!!

This was our 5th visit in over 12 years, last here July 2023 when I gave it 5 stars, however on this occasion doesn't merit that previous standard and if wasn't for all the good points I might have marked it as average. Start with all the good points :- Super friendly staff throughout the hotel and very helpful at reception Room was spotless, well equipped and very comfortable. Cleaned every day and towels changed when left in shower. Very good air con. Pool towels also included which cut down on luggage we had to bring. Used the car park for the first time and no problems there. Restaurant - super breakfasts each day with loads of choice and always topped up. As we had an early departure on last day which meant that we would miss breakfast, hotel provided packed breakfast for us on request at no extra cost which consisted of bottled water, orange juice, sandwiches , cake and 2 pieces of fruit. Dinner choice made at breakfast time however this could be changed last minute at dinner if you preferred something else. Fish dishes were excellent however standard of some the rest not quite as good as last visit. Hard working restaurant staff. Location is still a great selling point. The pool is a great size but let down on the negatives. Now the negatives :- my biggest complaint was at breakfast as staff no longer come and ask/provide you first thing with coffee/tea. In the past you would receive pots of tea and coffee at your table which was excellent, now if you want tea you have to fend for yourself and as for the coffee you have to ask for that and you get a cup of coffee which is a very poor imitation of what Italians are renowned for - Coffee. I was only asked one morning if I wanted coffee, the rest of the time I had to ask for it and it didn't arrive timeously. My other main complaint is the state of the pool - too many broken tiles, some loose and others which obviously been replaced at some point leave a lot to be desired and a trip hazard. Also around the circumference of the pool the white plastic drainage covers are broken, loose and also pose a trip hazard.. Generally the whole pool area looked untidy and badly in need of a power wash and tidy ups.

This was our second visit to La Perla and it certainly didn't disappoint. The friendliness and efficiency of the staff is second to none. Great food and a great location. The room cleaning service was excellent. Anna and Nicole on reception were so helpful as were the bar and pool staff. Elisa was great in the restaurant too but the star was Lucretia in the restaurant. We have never seen someone work so hard and constantly have a smile on her face and show such attention to all of the guests. The La Perla is an excellent hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking to holiday in Lake Garda. Thank you all so much.

Excellent location five minutes to the lakefront. Close to bus station and supermarket. Paid £70 extra for pool view room, wouldn’t bother if we went again as can’t really see the pool unless you’re on top floor and we were looking at two smoking chimneys. All staff excellent. Room was fine. Ran out of shower gel and didn’t replenish it as they’d run out. Pool bar supposed to close at 6 but when we went to get a drink at 5:20 he said he was closing. Food on the buffet nights was lovely, absolutely top quality. Food on the set menu nights wasn’t great and we mostly didn’t eat much of it. However TUI mark this as a four star hotel which is what I thought I was getting but it’s actually a three star so all in all it was a great base for Lake Garda.
