Hotel Excelsior le Terrazze

The rooms were well-equipped and the maid service was excellent. We enjoyed the food both at breakfast and dinner. There was ample room around the pool to relax overlooking the lake. All the staff were friendly and courteous. We both enjoyed our holiday with you so much we intend to return.

Our third visit to Garda and our third stay at The Excelsior. Not quite sure how it’s possible but it has improved on what was previously perfection! Every member of staff is so friendly and can’t do enough to help you enjoy your stay. The restaurant serves the most exquisite food and the breakfast buffet offers everything you could wish for. The rooms are cleaned every day with new towels provided and have all the usual things you’d expect - tea, coffee, safe, fridge, hairdryer, laundry service and beautiful soaps, shower gels, hand wash and moisturisers. The hotel has a great swimming pool with plenty of sun beds and clean towels available for use in the pool area. The hotel is ideally located just a 5 minute walk from the Garda ferry terminal for trips all over the lake. We honestly could not fault the Excelsior in any way and are already looking forward to returning in the future.

I don’t normally write reviews but this hotel warrants one. The hotel has been outstanding. The staff are very friendly and cannot do enough for you. The food is such high quality, the evening meal is a different menu each night. Breakfast is again such high quality plenty of options, there’s a chef each morning who will cook fresh omelettes & different types of eggs & crepes etc. everywhere is spotless and in fact, I have never stayed in such a clean hotel. The hotel is a few steps away from the lake front with plenty of shops & restaurants great for a walk without having to worry about getting taxis. I would come back in a heartbeat and wished I had booked 2 weeks instead of 1! Thank you for a lovely stay

We are just home after a 7 night stay at this super hotel. It is situated on the edge of Garda a short walk from the Ferry port from where you can visit many towns on the lake. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and a duvet each was ideal, the food is excellent and the staff we encountered were all very helpful and courteous particularly, Vito, Donato, Akash, Ahmed and Dennis. There were also 2 ladies who were assisting at breakfast but unfortunately I didn't get their names. Our room - 326 - gave us a fantastic view of the lake from the balcony. One thing which particularly impressed me was that every afternoon between 4 and 5pm afternoon tea is served free of charge to everyone who wishes to avail of it. As we were out on tours most days we only got it once but it is a lovely gesture by the hotel management and something I have never seen before. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Excelsior and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

We first came to Hotel Excelsior le Terrazze in 2015 and loved the place. We returned in 2019 and were equally impressed, so when we decided to holiday in Garda this year of course we chose this hotel. We had a double room on the second floor which was slightly smaller than those we had before but the view of the lake was better. The upgrades since we were here before meant that there were more than enough points to charge our mobile devices and the wifi worked really well. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and 'at home'. The staff are all extremely efficient, helpful and friendly. The hotel is kept immaculately clean by the wonderful housekeeping staff. The food is really good with plenty of choice and the service is very good. This is the sort of hotel that has many repeat visitors and we hope to return soon.

I’ll be honest I booked this hotel purely for the location and that certainly is great, about 5 minutes to the steps down to the promenade near to the ferry terminal and another few minutes to all the glorious, shops, bars and restaurants. We arrived after a very early flight and was delighted that the room was ready. I had booked a standard room so was not expecting much in the way of a view. The room itself was perfectly nice. Yes we did have a view of the trees and the top car park but as I said I was expecting this so make sure you upgrade if the view is important to you. The bed was comfy and separate duvets were an absolute game changer! I’d not really looked into the food too much and just presumed this would be the usual buffet style. It was however a set menu every night. Yes the format was the same, antipasto, and a choice of three mains and three starters. There was always a soup and a pasta to start and a meat, fish and vegetarian on the mains. Alongside this there is a fabulous salad bar with breads and a choice of sweets which changed daily. The food was incredible! The staff in the restaurant were fantastic, well throughout the hotel in general. The evening meal ran like clockwork as did breakfast where alongside fruit and bread and cheeses and cereal, you could have a choice of hot and eggs and omelettes were cooked to order. The cleanliness of the whole hotel and cleaning of the room is also to be commended. Bar prices were a little higher than what you would get in the town and there is no entertainment other than a singer a couple of nights a week. A few nights we returned to the hotel around 11pm and no one was about, definitely a hotel for the middle aged and up bracket which is no bad thing and everyone we met here were so nice. The pool area is small but we never had a problem getting beds in May although the weather was a little unpredictable. Garda itself has everything. The food stalls on the weekend were fabulous and there is a market there on a Friday. We walked on the promenade to Bardolino which is about 3k away and you can hire bikes at the hotel for €5 per day. We did a couple of trips whilst we were there, a tour of the lake and a trip to Venice. I’d highly recommend both. We stopped at a few places and didn’t see anywhere where we would have rather stayed than the excelsior. I was so sad to go home! We loved our stay, I can’t rate it highly enough 💕

Just returned from a 10 day stay at this superb hotel . We were lucky enough this year to have a front lake view on the 3rd floor which was amazing . Huge balcony with sun loungers overlooking the lake. Comfortable beds and room was cleaned to excellent standard . I am coeliac and Vito and his team looked after me well with alternative options when needed . Brenda in the bar looked after us well . The hotel is in good position to visit other towns on the lake being close to the ferries and a short walk from the bus station.

We stayed at la Terrazze on the recommendation of our daughter and son in law who had loved it the previous summer. We were not disappointed. The room was a generous size and although a little bland decor wise it was kept spotlessly clean by the housekeeping team throughout. The beds were very comfortable and there was no noise to be heard at all from guests in other rooms so a very peaceful sleeping experience. The view of the lake from the bar terrace is lovely and breakfast there outside a real morning treat. Breakfast menu is comprehensive and personally made omelettes are a definite bonus. Evening meals were imaginative and on the whole very palatable and well cooked. Some evenings being more enjoyable than others but no complaints about value for money. All the staff at the hotel are efficient, helpful and friendly. Everything works to a well ordered routine making for a very relaxing atmosphere. The hotel’s position close to the ferry departure point is a plus but the trek to the bus station for those like us who are elderly or have walking problems can get tiresome but the vast majority of people would not find this a problem at all. We were far more impressed by Garda resort than we expected to be and would have no hesitation in coming back and in recommending the hotel to others.

Another fantastic holiday at this Hotel after a previous stay in 2019 The hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff are all excellent and the Italian food is superb. The Hotel is situated in a great location for exploring Lake Garda. The Owners and Staff deserve credit for maintaining the Hotel’s high standards over many years. Highly Recommended !!!!
