Hotel is by the beach where you can walk across the road to go to the beach.

The front desk was helpful and friendly. I love the self serve beverages and fruit in the lobby. That was nice and unexpected. The hot breakfast was descent/good. Better than continental breakfast. The bed was ok but the bathroom smelled of urine the whole time we stayed there. There were tiny bugs crawling all around the tub. We couldn't open the safe and went to use the phone to call front desk then found out it did not work. Had to walk to the office to notify them which the maintenance guy came right way to open it. I love the location but overall the place is out dated and need major work. I was surprised there weren't any noise outside the room or other rooms around us considering the place was completely booked.

We would never stay here again. The hotel is very run down no matter how many coats of paint they use. I will say that the room was fairly clean. However, the outside hallways were very trashy. There was also a homeless person sleeping in the stairway and evidently using the bathroom there.

Our room had a very strong smell of urine, lobby and shared areas were very dirty and unkept. Pictures are not accurate. We asked for a refund once we saw/smelled our room, they said a manager would call since she could not refund the first day. Never heard back from the manager so we stopped back the next day to ask and they said it we had asked the day we checked out they could have refunded. Very misleading and would not recommend this hotel.

I did not expect much from the hotel as the reviews were mixed. But I am so surprised how pleasant our stays were. We stayed here days before we joined our cruise from Galveston and stayed again after our cruise. The staff are really nice, our favorite is Cris, always helpful and smiling. But all of them are really pleasant. The breakfast is nice too, so many to choose, they have hot breakfast, cereals, waffles, juices, coffee. They have coffee and hot chocolate available all day. The rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel is just beside Kroger supermarket, also walking distances to diffenrent restaurants and fastfoot like Mcdonalds, Popeye's. There is also a 24 hour convenience store near the gas station just walkable from the hotel. Very convenient. Also ample parking space if you have car. We will definitely stay again. Highly recommend!

The room smells dewy and not clean at all. The refrigerator was making too much noise that I had to unplug it. The faucet of the bathtub was connected wrong. When you turn it hot, the cold water is running. There were molds on the bathtub. This hotel needs major renovation.
Also, we drove there from Houston airport and arrived around 1 am. The main door of the hotel was locked and they did not even take us inside. All the transaction was done through a small window opening to the outside door of the hotel. When I asked the reason for this unusual practice, the receptionist said that it was not safe. If it is not safe and you are locking your door, then why do you keep your guest outside? That night I was alone as a woman with a child. I bet you are not as vulnerable than I was.
Bottomline, do not stay there.

I stay here atleast once a year, the upkeep has definitely taken a dip which is unfortunate. I love this hotel, but there were broken bikes and trash all throughout the halls and stair cases. Every time I check in, I like to do a cash deposit. However with each employee, there’s a different rule. $50, $100, now I can’t leave cash if I with card. Other than that, I love this hotel. I will continue to come back, but if it gets worse, I’m out.

I did not like the response of the maintenance and the front office in hospitality advise them the night I got there the toilet was not working was there running to the lobby to use their bathroom because of one in the room was not working would not flush sat there with the door closed closed and towels for the smell and then they took the cover off the toilet and the maintenance guy did not say he was coming back did not say anything he just said it was a big mess and left and never saw him again or heard from them and the key card stopped working I had to wait in front of my door 15 minutes to get access to the room disappointed because of the occasion but the island itself was nice
