The label "Luxury Hotels Gallipoli" with the euphemistic, superbly done photos on the hotel website, as well as the mostly very positive reviews on the usual booking platforms, made our expectations much higher than what this hostel could fulfill. There is no luxury to be found anywhere in the entire building - not even in the so-called deluxe rooms. The furniture is very simple, quite old and gives a rather cold impression (which can be quite advantageous in the midsummer heat). Please note: All rooms have different layouts. Some of the deluxe rooms are also suitable for families and are laid out over 2 levels, making them quite spacious. Because of the winding building, squeezed between the old town streets, some have little to no view. The central location in the picturesque center of the old town and the friendliness of the staff, who also made it easy for us to change rooms, are worth mentioning. Despite the summer weather in September, breakfast was served in a small room on the ground floor (no roof terrace!). The selection was rather sparse by Central European standards, but we were still able to enjoy fruit, pastries, fresh mozzarella, etc. The biggest disadvantage, in our opinion, was the noise from everything that was moving around in the building: room neighbors, cleaning staff, etc. So don't expect too much from the hotel and enjoy the magical atmosphere of Gallipoli!
