I upgraded the room to the store, two beds, and it cost $28. This time I stayed at three hotels that paid for the store, which are one or two hundred higher than the online price, and it is better to pay the online payment. B&B is generally not good, but it is more appropriate to bargain in the off-season. This hotel is the most expensive hotel I have stayed in for the past few days. It costs 1100 RMB a night. It is more expensive than Marriott and the Heritage Hotel. The bathing water in the room is not hot. I don’t know if it is expensive in the ancient city.

Initially, we thought we would be selfish and not share our thoughts on Ashen’s Beach house because we wanted to keep it all for ourself, but that wouldn’t be fair for the owners! We had 10 wonderful days and nights there. We were looking for an authentic beachside house away from the main tourist area, and this was truly it. The location is outstanding. A beach 100 yards from the door with very few people There. Sujana and her son Ashen could not have been more kind or helpful. Sujana cooked for us most nights and every meal was delicious. My husband needed a dentist and her son accompanied us to make sure we were ok. They have two beautiful dogs, generally I’m afraid of dogs but these 2 were so gentle (but also great guard dogs) it added to the feeling of security. Our room was spacious and bed super comfortable. We also booked an overnight safari trip which they organised for us. They agreed a very reasonable price (many people offering tours) and the trip was excellent. Dev the driver they recommend was safe, kind and helpful, he also did our airport transfers. If you’re looking for a western style hotel experience then don’t bother, but If you want to experience real Sri Lankan hospitality then Ashen’s is 10/10. We can’t wait for more holiday time to return.

Great hotel in a great location in Unawatuna. Rooms were spacious and modern, great view of the pool and ocean from the balcony. The staff were all extremely friendly as well. Buffet breakfast was terrific too. Highly recommended Thaproban Pavillion Waves to anyone travelling to Unawatuna.

My review, of course, will not be about this hotel, but about the hotel of this chain, Thaproban Pavilion Resort & Spa. We booked a room at the Thaproban Beach House Hotel, when we came to check in, it turned out that our reservation at this place was missing, and we had a reservation at the Thaproban Pavilion Resort & Spa. Thanks to the Trip.com team for helping us understand and resolve issues. And the Thaproban Pavilion Resort & Spa turned out to be much better than the Thaproban Beach House. True, it is not on the beach, but the beach is 5-7 minutes away. The hotel is super, all the amenities, large rooms overlooking the ocean. Very tasty breakfasts, 2 swimming pools on site, one with salt water. In general, I highly recommend the hotel. We really liked it. And we never regretted that we moved into it.

Over the past eight years I've stayed three times in Frangipani and would always return. Very friendly professional operating family provides modern and spacious rooms in two buildings of each sites of the street in the absolute center of Galle Fort, just next to Barefoot. A really nice classical hotel with a great energy and somewhat colonial charm. The rooms are all a bit different and come with nice windows and a kettle. WiFi works well and the garden area is also great. Behind the second, older building you'll see why the hotel is named Frangipani.

A super hotel with good facilities and a good location. The buffet breakfast is comparable to the standard of lunch and dinner. The hotel’s open-air saltwater swimming pool is clean and buoyant.
