The breakfast needs to be changed everyday ! Same breakfast for 3 days becomes boring

Food was good, service was poor. Had to ask for an iron twice. Location was isolated. It is undergoing a renovation, which was very disruptive.

A very good hotel, designed by the famous Sri Lankan designer Bawa. This trip is a hotel series specially selected by the designer friends, and it lives up to expectations. Hope to stay here again in the future.

The price of this hotel on the day was much cheaper than the booked price, which made people feel very speechless. The location of the hotel is still relatively remote, unless you charter a car yourself, public transportation is quite inconvenient

The infinity pool of Bawa architecture is a wonderful hotel. Many of the customers seemed to be from Sri Lanka. There were many people like honeymooners, but there were surprisingly many families and families. Although the hotel was a little old, it was solidly built and there was no problem with the plumbing. Service outside the restaurant was very good. The restaurant seems to take more than 30 minutes to bring out what you ordered at lunch. And it was a little cold. Coffee for breakfast also took quite a while to come out. Housekeeping and receptionists were very nice.

Heritance Ahungalle is a beautiful hotel with the feel of luxury and space. We were greeted warmly by the reception staff and taken to our rooms. We were there for 2 nights, 3 days and opted to upgrade ourselves to the sea-view rooms. We did have a view of the sea but one room only had a partial sea-view. The rooms were welcoming, spacious, comfortable and had all the trimmings of a 5 star hotel. The washroom did look a bit dated as it’s an older hotel but was clean. There is a wide and long beach where one could go for walks and the main swimming pool is amazing. There was live music in the evening. On one day there was a saxophonist and he was very good. Out of the three buffets, the breakfast buffet was simply amazing. Even for me who have stayed at many Sri Lankan and overseas hotels, this was a fabulous experience. There was such a variety of fruits, fresh juices, yogurts, cold cuts, cheeses, breads etc to start off. The local herbal porridge (kola kenda) was absolutely delicious. Then there were the hot dishes both Sri Lankan and western with also an omelette station. However, I have to say while the local dishes were excellent, the western and Chinese dishes could be fined tuned a bit more. The Restaurant Manager, Pradeep and his team were simply amazing. They were very friendly, professional and courteous. Pradeep conveyed to us that if there was anything that we specifically need to let him know. He remembered our preferences and acted accordingly. One person in our group was sick one day and the team provided what our friend could eat and made special deliveries to the room. This is greatly appreciated. The only thing that was a negative was that we saw a family that was at breakfast, who, later got into the pool in the same clothes. This is quite unhygienic. I didn’t see any boards at the pool side stating that swimwear needs to be worn. I did mention it to the staff at the reception who were aware of this happening. All in all, it was a fabulous experience and a place that we would look forward to come again. The service all round, from the bell boys to housekeeping and to the restaurant was excellent! We have spent the last 6 days here - what can I say! It has been fabulous. The hotel was immaculate and the service was brilliant. Everyday we have experience a new height in customer service right through from the cleaner, who has done an amazing job with our room and been very creative with his origami skills, the pool staff have been amazing - I even managed to race the pool lifeguards (they only just beat me!) The bar and restaurant staff have been very attentive. And today, we took part in world environment day, an annual ceremony with local primary school children and were invited to plant a tree at the hotel to help the environment. We will be back

Wow !! Great experience !!! The swimming pools, beach, food is amazing !! We had a superb time as a family. Highly appreciate the genuine kindness & warmth of the satff. Also much thanks to Dilsha at front-office and Duminda !!! ❤️

This is a first class hotel right on the beach. Very spacious well equipped rooms, beautiful grounds and 2 large pool. Nice restaurant with Buffett but was lacking the choices we had experienced elsewhere in Sri Lanka. The family members I travelled with like a cocktail before dinner but less than half the cocktails listed on the menu were unavailable. They had no limes in a country that has heaps of citrus fruit. We stayed a few nights and still no limes at the end. Only a small thing but I’m sure they could have bought some just outside the resort.

I have to say that Ahungalla was the best hotel in my 8 day's trip in Srilanka. What you will have: 1) A super swimming pool when you arrive in the lobby which is directly face to the ocean and it links with beach. 2) All the smiling faces in reception, F&B and guest relationship. 3) A wooden nice room with clean and comfortable bed. 4) Very much cozy environment with cool lighting and srilanka cultural decorations. Thanks to all the people who helped and served us: (Who I remembered name's) Dilsha from Guest Relation/Pradeep from F&B/Nimna and Rahul from hot kitchen.

This is a lovely hotel. All the staff are always smiling and can’t do enough for you. From reception staff, bar staff, waiters they are all lovely. We stayed on a BB basis and the breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. We also ate in the Al a carte several times and was always good. If you are looking to do some trips speak to Siri on the beach. We done 3 trips with him and they were great value. Very good English speaking drivers and English speaking guides. If you want a truly traditional Sri Lankan curry speak to Siri. He can arrange this for you. Food was amazing. My husband had be wanting a spicy fish curry but all the ones we tried were no very spicy. Sandamali Boat safari do river trips with traditional Sri Lankan food. They cooked us a Sri Lankan curry for our evening meal which was delicious and nice and spicy. Can highly recommend for a great Sri Lankan experience. We also tried the bamboo massage which was great. Just ask Siri he’ll show you the way. Karen and Michael (England)

An iconic hotel with super service and all modern facilities. Friendly and hospitable staff accompanied by mouthwatering cuisine. Plenty of space to enjoy a lovely vacation. Take time to soak in the genius of Bawa's architecture and tropical modernism with across different moods and tones. Luxurious rooms with all amenities. Highly Recommended.
