I didn´t feel welcome there. The staff was relatively helpful, but seemed to be in a general bad mood. Running after me and almost accusing me of trying to steal when I had to go and get money from an ATM to pay for a meal at the hotel bar. Asking about other places to visit on Kreta one of the workers sighed and told about how everything was ruined by tourism… The floor was flooded when I had a shower. It was so bad I had to change rooms. Everything in the room is *****ped to down to the bare minimum. The traffic outside the hotel, and everywhere around that aerea is so that you have to be on watch all the time not to get run over by cars or mopeds. The sidewalks are narrow and it feels dangerous to cross the street. It´s the last time I´m doing charter, ever. I felt like a horrible person every minute of that horrible holiday.

This hotel is great. Rooms clean and spacious. Great location for getting to Chania and Platanias.Although the resort is a little on the quiet side but as some lovely beaches. The hotel is run perfectly. A big shout out to Andreas, Maria and all their wonderful staff, who are amazing. Andreas and Maria never stop but they never fail to say a good morning how are you to anybody. The food in the hotel is very good from quality breakfasts to fantastic evening dinner. We will be back without a doubt.

What a little gem. I cannot find fault with this hotel at all. We arrived after midnight and the bar manager was waiting for us to show us to our room. The room was quite big. King size bed that was really comfortable and really comfy plump pillars. Small kitchen area and dinning but enough for 2 people. Furniture in really good condition. Shower had a full head shower. Balcony with pool and sea view. All staff very friendly and helpful, nothing to much trouble. Small shop on sight. Everywhere was clean, rooms and communal areas. We were on a bed and breakfast basis. Plenty of choice for breakfast including options for vegetarians. It was from a menu but you was able to swap about if you wanted too. Entertainment twice a week. We only saw the singers on the Sunday but they were really good. Staff stayed up till late to accommodate people wanting to stay up late. Only negative we could find which wasn’t the hotel was that Kalamaki is very small and not a lot to do. So I would say it’s not somewhere to go if you want to party every night. Chania was only half an hour away by bus, 2.50€ each way if you pay on the bus. 1.50€ each way if you buy a ticket from the shop. Well worth a visit. Bus stop near hotel, every 15 minutes. Reception staff recommended a nice restaurant just out of town, half hour walk away or not much in a taxi. Beaches were lovely and very clean. Sea lovely and clear. All in all great relaxing holiday 😎

Just come back from a fabulous 10 days staying here (2adults, 2 young kids). Everyone working at the hotel was super helpful and friendly. The apartment was a good size and kept spotless by the cleaning staff. Location is brilliant with a bus stop right outside straight into Chania. Five minutes walk either way are gorgeous sandy beaches. We normally like to eat in different places every night when we're on holiday, but the food here was so good (and reasonably priced) we ended up eating dinner 4 nights, as well as having a few lunches and a couple of breakfasts! Only very slightly improvement for me (and it really is slight....) would be to have a little cupboard in the lounge where the kids were sleeping on sofa beds- just so they have a proper space of their own. There's also a little supermarket on site where you can pick up all the basics, and again, quite reasonably priced . Definitely recommend!

What a great little jewel we found with this hotel. The rooms are spacious and cleaned daily. The food at this place is plentiful and very good standard. The pool is nice and clean with a bar on the side. You don't even have to move. The married couple that are there running the operation from 8 to at least 2am everyday are fantastic. Andrea's and Maria and nothing is a problem.....so nice. Prices for food and drinks are comparable to everywhere else in the area. A great holiday was had by us both and I would recommend Porto Kalamki to anyone.

The rooms did not match the description on the booking site. Four of the lamps in our room were broken. The thing holding the shower curtain was really loose and unstable, and could easily break. Some of the cutlery were missing so we only had three forks. The wifi was really bad and we couldn’t use our phones at the same time because the wifi was so slow. We also had trouble even connecting Four phones to the wifi. We had multiple clashes with the staff and we didn’t feel welcome. The owner looked at us in a weird and annoyed way, whenever he saw us. He was mad at us because we didn’t buy all our groceries at the minimarket connected to the hotel and he even confronted one of us one morning. He also ignored us and let other guests in front of us when we wanted to order a drink from the pool bar. In general he was just rude to us and behaved in a weird way. The receptionists were really rude to us. The communication between the receptionists and the other staff was really bad and they told us differnt things, which left us in a really unpleasent situation where we were rebuked and scolded because of some hotel towels. We actually felt like they were doing it on purpurs. The only staff who was nice to us was the cleaning staff who did a really good job everyday and they were very helpfull if we had any questions. Also the ladies who worked in the mini marked were always very nice and friendly. The rest of hotel was a bit like the rooms. There were algre and food in the pool. No locks in the toilets by the pool. The drinks and food at the hotel was miserable and not worth eating. We would recommend going to Chania to get drinks and eat out. A good thing is that there is a busstop very close to the hotel so it easy to get to and from Chania, and it is easy to buy bustickets at the mini market.

The hotel manager was so helpful and took us at our room on arrival and helped us with our luggage. The location is superb the sea is opposite the hotel. Try the cocktails they are superb the happy hour is between 4-6. The house keeping staff clean your room daily. The reception staff are very helpful and will book excursions for you. Overall I would definitely recommend a visit to this hotel.

I can not praise this hotel enough! Rooms: We had a basic room and after a 5* AI last year we were initially shocked. However we realised we had paid for a 3 star SC holiday this year and that is what we got. The room was basic, but had everything we could possibly need and more importantly was clean!! The only time we spent in there was to sleep and shower. The room we had was 309 and overlooked the pool. It was great as still had the sun on the balcony after it had gone off the pool around 6pm. There had been previous reviews of loud music - however we were in bed by 11/12 each night and there was no loud music at all. The music during the day was not particularly loud either. Beds were comfy - however the 3rd, child’s bed was very narrow and not very comfy, however I managed to sleep in it most nights (my son managed to con me each night for him to sleep in double!). My biggest shout out goes to our cleaner - she was so lovely, friendly and did a fantastic job each day! Pool area: Always clean and tidy. No rush for sunbeds. We always went to beach in morning and came back around 3 and we always managed to get 2 beds right next to pool. Waiter and waitress service to sunbeds was excellent. Music was not particularly loud, however did get slightly louder during happy hour (4pm - 6pm) but still not offensive. Hotel surroundings (gardens etc): Very clean and tidy. Food: excellent food. We went SC so we could have the choice of various restaurants throughout the day. However we ended up having breakfast here everyday. We came back to the hotel and had late lunch everyday and then we ended up spending every other night there as well. I cannot fault any of the food I tried (the mixed grill to share was particularly good, and big!!). The cocktails are also amazing here, no skimping on alcohol or size! Thank you to all the staff who ensured we were looked after when eating and drinking. Mini market: stocks essentials and doesn’t charge more than other shops around the area. Other Tips: Bus to Chania is around €1:30 and approx 25mins away. This is defo worth a visit, very pretty town and harbour area. You get the tickets from the mini market in hotel Aqua park - not the biggest but was good for a day out. We went through Jet 2 excursions, however you could get taxi there as it is close enough. I felt the whole day there was a bit long as it wasn’t massive. So you could get a taxi and buy a half a day ticket. We went to the beach in front of the sunbamboo restaurant (turn right out of hotel and is down road on left) €9 for 2 beds and parasol and was a nice quiet area. On the first day we did walk right along the beach to the other end and it was a lot busier and the beds were €10. Harbour opposite hotel is lovely and the little chapel at the end is beautiful. If having late check out and don’t pay for a late room, ensure you take your towels from your room down with you and leave in luggage room for your shower later. I was expecting f
