I can not praise this hotel enough! Rooms: We had a basic room and after a 5* AI last year we were initially shocked. However we realised we had paid for a 3 star SC holiday this year and that is what we got. The room was basic, but had everything we could possibly need and more importantly was clean!! The only time we spent in there was to sleep and shower. The room we had was 309 and overlooked the pool. It was great as still had the sun on the balcony after it had gone off the pool around 6pm. There had been previous reviews of loud music - however we were in bed by 11/12 each night and there was no loud music at all. The music during the day was not particularly loud either. Beds were comfy - however the 3rd, child’s bed was very narrow and not very comfy, however I managed to sleep in it most nights (my son managed to con me each night for him to sleep in double!). My biggest shout out goes to our cleaner - she was so lovely, friendly and did a fantastic job each day! Pool area: Always clean and tidy. No rush for sunbeds. We always went to beach in morning and came back around 3 and we always managed to get 2 beds right next to pool. Waiter and waitress service to sunbeds was excellent. Music was not particularly loud, however did get slightly louder during happy hour (4pm - 6pm) but still not offensive. Hotel surroundings (gardens etc): Very clean and tidy. Food: excellent food. We went SC so we could have the choice of various restaurants throughout the day. However we ended up having breakfast here everyday. We came back to the hotel and had late lunch everyday and then we ended up spending every other night there as well. I cannot fault any of the food I tried (the mixed grill to share was particularly good, and big!!). The cocktails are also amazing here, no skimping on alcohol or size! Thank you to all the staff who ensured we were looked after when eating and drinking. Mini market: stocks essentials and doesn’t charge more than other shops around the area. Other Tips: Bus to Chania is around €1:30 and approx 25mins away. This is defo worth a visit, very pretty town and harbour area. You get the tickets from the mini market in hotel Aqua park - not the biggest but was good for a day out. We went through Jet 2 excursions, however you could get taxi there as it is close enough. I felt the whole day there was a bit long as it wasn’t massive. So you could get a taxi and buy a half a day ticket. We went to the beach in front of the sunbamboo restaurant (turn right out of hotel and is down road on left) €9 for 2 beds and parasol and was a nice quiet area. On the first day we did walk right along the beach to the other end and it was a lot busier and the beds were €10. Harbour opposite hotel is lovely and the little chapel at the end is beautiful. If having late check out and don’t pay for a late room, ensure you take your towels from your room down with you and leave in luggage room for your shower later. I was expecting f
