Outside pool area was nice rooms let it down! Plug socket hanging off wall, fridge rusty, no plug socket for hot plate, was an extension lead, toilet leaked, no handle on cupboard door, front door dragged on the floor, lights hit n miss and as for balcony .. well it was inside a corridor. No kitchen utensils although classed as self catering 1 frying pan, 1 small knife and 1 sauce pan that was it Bed was comfy and location for buses was good. Other than that id pay a bit more and go to other hotels few doors down.

Akasti hotel is a family business with the most amazing staff. They made our trip the best by giving us all kinds of suggestions of what to do or were to eat in Crete. If we needed anything they made sure so help us in any possible way. Especially thanks to Eva and Raja, you’re the best! / Rahul and Ellen

The property needs to be renewed: We stayed in a ground floor room with a very comfy bed but a very small and old bathroom. The shower without curtain, a small sink, without any shelves to store our own items. The soap is not refilled every day and towels are changed under request. The closet smelled like old. The room is equipped with a small old rusty kitchen that doesn't work (just the fridge works)..why don't remove it?? The second room reserved by my family was very similar to mine but, moreover, had a very big window/skylight over the not working kitchen without any tend. Every morning at 5:00, the sun brightened the bedroom. We reserved a half-board treatment (breakfast + dinner). The breakfast is the worst part of the journey: always, every day, the same! Just 1 juice (maybe orange), just 1 cake (the same until over), 1 kind of yogurt and 2 types of cereals and 1 carton of milk. Who preferred a salted breakfast, found every morning: 1 kind of cheese, 1 kind of salami, eggs, bread and tomato and cocumber. Always the same, 1 kind of each one. No choise. About dinner: the daily menu is selected by the restaurant: No personal choise but every evening a different dish. In a week: 6 meat + 1 fish. The portions are big and delicious (maybe too salted). The pool is a jewel and the propery has a big potential but remains a 2* without any efforts. Staff and owners very very kind.
