Gairloch Highland Lodge

We believe from friends who live locally this hotel didn’t have the best reputation, well 5star it’s not but it’s clean comfortable and well staffed, you cannot fault the service especially from the manager, great breakfast cooked as requested, room was clean and tidy if a little dated but overall not a bad place to stay, easy to find and in a good location.

We ended up at the Gairloch Highland Lodge after the accommodation we had booked proved unsuitable. As other reviews show, it's a basic hotel that looks tired in places and needs some money spent on it. But it is clean and the staff do their best to keep it looking nice. Our room was clean and well presented. It was a decent size. It had two twin beds, which were comfy, a nice shower, and decent free Wi-Fi. It was adequate for our two-night stay and accommodated all our luggage with no problems. Breakfast was basic self-service, but again, more than sufficient for our needs. But what stood out were the brilliant staff and their excellent service from when we arrived to when we left. A special shout-out to Sharon & Michael, who appeared to be on duty from breakfast to evening. Despite their long hours and being understaffed, they were always super welcoming and friendly, and could not do enough for us. They went above and beyond what we expected to assist us on several occasions.

I was in the area for work and was doing nightshifts. I was welcomed by Mike and met Alistair the following day. Both couldn’t have been more accommodating. They really went the extra mile and beyond to try and help me get undisturbed sleep through the day and made sure I still got breakfast despite my funny hours. I was very well looked after indeed.

The lodge has a years gone by feel to it, with a guest lounge, honesty bar, books and board games. The rooms are very much in need of refurbishment, but were clean, a good size, with an ensuite bathroom. Plenty of parking just across from the room. The breakfast was serve yourself, not a big selection but adequate. There is another pub/hotel a few minutes walk away which was a good place for dinner.

Great We have a late check in, the hotel send us a clear instructions about how to have a self check in. The breakfast is good. Staff is nice. Great to stay there.

Had a lovely stay at Gairloch Highland Lodge. Received a warm welcome from Michael who allowed us to check in early. View from our room was gorgeous. Overlooked Gairloch Harbour. Will definitely stay there again if we return to Gairloch.
