What a gem! If you think “hostel” then scrap that thought! This place is amazing. More quaint lil hotel tucked away on the coast. The decor, staff and vibe are awesome. Location is nothing short of perfect… even with the gigantic hill! We will defo be back

Wonderful location, fantastic welcome and stay. Staff helpful, friendly and enthusiastic to ensure your stay is as good as it can be. Bar / cafe is cozy and homely, food looked amazing and not too badly priced. Car park at top of hill, meaning a walk down a steepish hill. Great for families / couples exploring or visiting the area. We will certainly be going back again. RECOMMENDATIONS: Take a pillow and towels with you. I would also recommend (not essential though) taking an extra sheet to put on the mattress. We found that the single sheet wasn’t enough to remove the feeling of the rubber covering on the mattress. Don’t let these things put you off staying here though, it’s brilliant. We also loved the fossil hunting in the little bay at the front.

Have just returned from staying at Boggle Hole twice with different schools and I cannot rate Boggle Hole YHA highly enough. Fantastic location, lovely staff, really clean facilities, excellent food, quirky decor in one of the best settings in the UK. I can’t wait to go back!

Brilliant, stunning hostel, with great facilities, super friendly and helpful staff. I've stayed here before but, this time, I had a room in the Crow's nest. Great new building with small kitchen (kettle, sink, fridge, cutlery and plates). My room was for 3 but I travelled alone, so it was very spacious and with an en suite!! Great value for money. And of course, the location is superb! Right by the beach, a short walk to Robin Hood's bay by beach or up the coastal path. Stunning views and lots of fossils too!

Booked for one night on a walking trip. All the staff were brilliant. Facilities were great and everywhere was very clean. Had everything we needed at a great price. Would definitely recommend if looking to stay in the area.

Boggle Hole hostel is a great place to stay. It’s situated in a secluded beach. It take a few minutes to walk down a steep road to get there (and walk back up again), which may be an issue for some but also filters out a massive crowd. The room (in the crow’s nest part) was modern and clean. Nothing fancy but decent enough. Tonnes of activities that can keep children busy like finding fish and ghosts around the building. And for everyone short hikes to neighbouring villages like Robin Hood’s Bay, either along the seashore when the tide is out or on a spectacular cliff walk when the tide is high. Recommended for a few nights, don’t waste time on arriving late in evening and checking out the next morning.

Really nice place overall in a great location, having not stayed in a YHA or any hostel before. I therefore wasn't sure what to expect and my expectations were low. Stayed here for one night having wanted to cheaply extend our holiday. A brisk walk down to the hostel and love how it is literally right on the beach. An old mill previously, it had great character and charm. We stayed in a separate building called the crows nest. Everything very basic and therefore beds were too. Didn't sleep great as the doors in the corridor outside the rooms squeaked or slammed. They ideally need to oil a few of them and get some soft close hinges on the fire doors. In addition the bed mattresses are very hard with no ventilation within the rooms. As 5 of us were in one room, even with the window open it was like being in the Caribbean. Therefore a restless nights sleep for adults at the least. The restaurant was great, good value and decent quality. Other facilities were also clean, tidy and well presented. Breakfast was really good also. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Overall we left with a decent opinion of YHA. A value option for our future travel plans albeit a very basic one.

Great, unique location. About 7 minutes walk from the nearest car park. Cosy bar area. Usual YHA menu. Staff friendly. Our room was in the crows nest, so had a few steps to get to. Room was comfortable and got a great nights sleep. We had walked to and from Robin Hood's Bay, in the rain, so had wet gear. There is a drying room, but it couldn't cope with all the wet gear. We had a great time, and would stay there again if the weather was better, if only to have a swim!

At first everything is great! The cafe/bar, breakfast, location and staff are all fabulous. The beach location is incredible. Unfortunately all of this was forgotten when we discovered you cannot get any sleep! We were in a family room in the newer building and the noise level was shocking! All night long all you can hear are doors slamming and hand dryers running. You would think it would be children and babies that make the noise but in our experience it was entirely adult guests that seem to run about the corridors all night talking - very loudly. There is clear signage that guests should be quiet from 11pm-7am but it is not followed. It is such a shame. I would love to return but the prospect of no sleep is not appealing!
