Wow, this is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at for any price, and it is extraordinarily inexpensive! It's located up at the top of a mountain, with amazing views from both the rooms and the outdoor dining area that wraps around the building. Rooms are very large with nice amenities - little bottled toiletries, a big bottle of mineral water in the room, etc. This is the kind of place that you want to stay at for 3 or 4 days and use as a base to explore the surrounding country. The restaurant is excellent, and most of the staff speak English well. Regrettably, the rooms are not wheelchair-accessible.

Wir waren zum Mittagessen da. Der Service war nett, freundlich und lustig. Wir bekamen ohne Reservierung einen schönen Tisch. Das Essen war schön angerichtet, aber für unseren Geschmack etwas fad. Die Lage und die Aussicht sind echt spitze!

Wir sind kurz nach der Mittagszeit in den Gasthof Bernd gekommen. Hatten am Eingang gewartet, ob uns jemand anzeigt, wo wir hinsitzen sollen, aber es kam niemand. Damit suchten wir uns einen freien Tisch selbst aus. Wir wollten nur eine Kleinigkeit und die Dinge auf der Karte sagten uns nicht zu - hatten daher Kaffee und Suppe bestellt. Unsere Bestellung wurde mit Augenrollen und Grimassen quittiert und die Speisekarten zurück auf den Stapel gepfeffert. Auf Rückfrage, ob ihr stören und unwillkommen sind wurden wir noch angeblafft. Argument war, dass wegen un eine Gruppe mit 9 Personen des Gasthauses verwiesen wurde, obwohl noch viele Plätze im Raum frei waren. Ich hatte mich so auf die Aussicht und ein Stück Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte gefreut und war dann leider so enttäuscht und traurig, dass der Tag im Eimer war. Schade, war bisher so gerne auf dem Brend…..aber so macht das keine Freude.

Wir waren mit der Familie zum Essen dort. Sehr netter Service, sehr leckeres Essen und sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Das Lokal innen ist sehr gemütlich, auf der Terrasse unschlagbarer Ausblick! Wir werden sehr gerne wiederkommen!

Die Lage des Hotels dierkt neben dem Brendturm ist einmalig und bietet hervorragende Wandertouren und im Winter sehr gepflegte Loipen. Man hat von hier aus eine tolle Aussicht und man kann u. a. wunderschöne Sonnenauf- und Sonnenuntergänge genießen. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist schön angerichtet, sehr reichhaltig und bietet eine hervorragende Auswahl. Unbedingt probieren sollte man die ausgezeichnete Schwarzwaldtorte! Vor allem an Sonn- und Feiertagen muss man rund um das Hotel mit viel Ausflugsverkehr aus dem Tal (Furtwangen) rechnen.

Vandaag spontaan met zijn 6-en na het wandelen binnengelopen met allemaal 3 vaccinaties en een medisch mondmasker. Na een paar passen binnen riep hij van een afstand alleen JA?? We zeiden we zouden graag koffie drinken. Hij schreeuwde letterlijk tegen ons dat we niet het juiste masker droegen en we dus moesten gaan. Geen uitleg wat dan wel wenselijk is, geen gesprek mogelijk, afgesnauwd verlieten we de locatie! Een idee vd, onbeleefde, gastheer: bied het juiste Mondmasker aan tegen betaling, en ben blij dat er überhaupt iemand binnen komt!! Hoewel we in deze omgeving al 40 jaar komen is de zoveelste gastheer van deze locarie alweer een foute keuze… Familie P

zu viert mit Familie im Vierbettzimmer - schön groß, großer Balkon mit Süd- und Westseite, spektakuläre Aussicht rund um das Haus. Sehr freundliches personal, rustikale Küche, große Portionen. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Trotz warmem Orkan-Wochenende waren noch einige Loipen in der Nähe in Betrieb und gut gepflegt. Kommen sehr gern wieder. Einfache Zimmer, aber alle ok. Das Gästesofa (Bett 3+4) nicht so wirklich komfortabel, aber für das WE war es ok.
