One of the main reason why I booked this 4 star hotel was that it said it had a large space gym area as mentioned before booking, so I assumed it being a 4 start Hotel it will have decent weights and machines. However, when I arrived, the gym didn’t have a pull-up bar or a cable machine, the dumbbell weights were very basic that went up to only 10 kg. That is absolutely disappointing considering this was a 4 start Hotel. To be honest the multiuse cable machine is pretty much all you need as it has everything to be exercise all your body parts! I love my pullups hence I had to find a way to do them so I found a metal gate just outside the gym in the tennis court believe it or not I used the gate frame to do my pullups (see picture). Another downfall is that it didn’t have a water fountain in the gym area. You had to go up to the reception and buy bottle of water for €2. Good luck to those who suffer from quick dehydration.
I expected the room to have a kettle which you wouldn’t think twice whether it will have it or not. But guess what? You have to pay extra to have a kettle in your room during your stay between €5 to €7. That’s just jokes, I didn’t know if I should laugh or cry!
Other than that, the staff were very friendly and the location is close to the sea, and approximately 11 minutes drive to the main city area in Funchal.
I’d say the breakfast is good, but the same time pretty standard what you would get in a 3 star hotel. I was expecting better variety. The breakfast is always the same every day. Hardly never changes. However, the dinner menu has a rotation.
Overall, I would give this place 3.5 out of 5!
I hope they can accommodate the above the next time I visit.

What a great hotel,stayed for one week June 6th-13th.Lovely room,food,staff,pool & fantastic place to relax.Very hilly so if you like walking you’ll love it.We went into Funchal town to the Shopping Mall which was nice plus loads of discounts off clothes,perfume etc. We paid for bed & breakfast which was eat as much as you want buffet style then theres food at the pool bar if you need it later in the day.We ate at the Paladar restaurant every night,great menu & first class service. We will return one day as its a definite 10/10.

We stayed at the hotel for 8 days. Since the hotel’s parking is very small and almost always full, we had to leave our rental car on the main street every night — and for the whole week, we didn’t experience a single scratch or issue. On our final night, we managed to park directly in front of the hotel entrance. In the morning, we found the entire side of the car badly scratched. We immediately informed reception, but were told there are no security cameras outside. We emailed hotel management with all the details, but received no response to this day! We were charged €200 by the rental company and had to go through the insurance process ourselves. For a 4-star hotel, the lack of basic security and customer care is extremely disappointing. We expected much better. Sadly, this left a very negative impression at the end of an otherwise enjoyable trip. We would strongly recommend the hotel management take this issue seriously and improve guest safety — and communication.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this warm and friendly hotel. Reception staff were exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. Room was comfortable and quiet with fabulous sea views. Food at breakfast was plentiful, varied and fresh. We loved 'Happy Hour' in the cocktail bar. Facilities and pools were great. We appreciated and used the free shuttle bus. We would love to return and would definitely recommend this hotel, without hesitation.

Once again we have just had another super stay at this excellent Hotel Panoramico, in fact it was my sixth visit and my partners third visit. Our previous visits have been in January and February, and this was our first stay in May. The hotel is in a good location, away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre area. The hotel has a very good minibus service to and from the harbour area, which we used quite a few times (there is a good bus service,No.45, and the taxis are not too expensive for a late evening return from the centre to the hotel). The staff are very helpful and the rooms are very nice and with good views of the surrounding area, particularly the rooms with a balcony and a sea view.We have always found the food to be excellent, with a good range of choices etc. The outdoor and indoor swimming pools are good and well used. I’m sure you will be delighted with your visit, and certainly will not be disappointed. Enjoy.😀👍

Absolutely fantastic stay at this lovely hotel. Wasn't there solo but a great place for anyone thinking of going solo. Staff are friendly & professional. Free shuttle bus to centre up to 6 o'c & €2 on public bus back to hotel. Entertainment some nights, not advertised very well which resulted in low audience but fab bands. Our only gripe was no kettle in room & maybe a softer pillow. Would not hesitate to return.

The hotel panoramically is a 4 sterling hotel offering great facilities, excellent food and drink and has great staff. The hotel is as great as it is due to the professionalism of the staff from the reception through to restaurant and bar staff through to cleaning operators. Special commendations should go to Leandro, Carlos, Sao, Patricia, Betty from the cocktail bar,Rashid in the dining room and Sonia in the poolside bar. These employees make this hotel with their vigour, humour and work rate and all went over and above their duties. Well done! Even the hotel manager took time out to ask how we were and were we enjoying our stay here. Excellent.
